This last Friday I spent 2 hours at the VFS Global visa offices in Johannesburg sorting out a Portuguese visa for my other half. We have been trying for 3 weeks to book an appointment, but the online booking portal has been down. I have phoned the offices half a dozen times ad only on Wednesday last week did the service center state they accept walk ins. I had been told at least 3 times before walk ins are not accepted so I was a little pissed off with the non service.
When we arrived at the VFS offices there were literally thousands of foreigners from neighboring South African countries looking to head to Europe. I overheard many complaining that they were being denied because they had insufficient funds and all they wanted was to get in and not return.
I was trying to work out which countries were under attack as this VFS office lists the countries they offer visas for. Poland, Hungary, Portugal and the Netherlands seemed to be the top travel destinations and I was not full of joy to see this happening. Worrying and scary if a high percentage are successful because this is not for a 3 or 6 month stay as they want to remain permanently.
Governments are most definitely letting their citizens down by making it too easy to land in another country and disappear. Many I presume will be using these countries to land in and then head on to the UK with the rubber duck channel crossings. The illegal migrants are not arriving by boats crossing the Mediterranean, but via airports in the EU which is shockingly bad.
Europe and the UK especially is out of control when it comes to migrants and the avenues of entry need to be stopped. What is taking place is not normal and is unfair on the citizens of those countries.
I saw a report yesterday stating Croatia is allowing 500K migrants entry which is crazy considering that country has 4 million citizens. In 20 years Croatia will be unrecognizable and that culture totally lost. This is a sad reality and citizens will have no say shortly because they will be out numbered and replaced.
The positive news is the Dutch have finally woken up and other countries need to follow suit. Deportations to start in November which could not happen fast enough. There is going to be a push back across Europe and the UK and the violence that kicks off would have been created by the Governments. The people have no other choice as they are the ones being backed into the corner and if you cannot see the problem then you are part of the problem thinking that this is acceptable. Think of your kids and grandkids what type of future they will have.
No more permanent residents all visas will expire.
Syrians sent back to safe areas in Syria.
Refugees will not get priority housing over Dutch nationals.
When this all started off no one thought we would see the numbers we have seen lately and why it has to be reversed as this is unsustainable. People seeking asylum when in reality they are economic migrants should ever have bee allowed. Visas should never be allowed to be converted into permanent residence unless you have skills that are required.
I an returning to the VFS offices tomorrow which is kind of depressing to see and will see if I can get some photographs of how bad it really is.
