I stole the above stat from @blanchy's post which got me onto this topic originally. The two weird sponsorships that stood out were cycling (@victorwallet) which Hive bough a MTB bike for paying $6500 and have paid out over $20K in the last 12 months. The other questionable sponsor being the street workout crew known as @swc-oficial who is conveniently linked with @victorwallet . If you want to read my post here Value Plan And My Concerns
Last week I wrote a post in regard to @valueplan and a few of the projects/sponsorships I have serious concerns about. I received no feed back which I did not expect as these are not your normal Hivers. I was not going to write another post because this is depressing but we all need to be aware of what is happening.
Today I thought I would take another look at @valueplan and today they have transferred another $1736 to our Venezuelan mountain bike cyclist.
I went and took a look at the event which happens this coming weekend on Saturday at the Tiquirito Trails. The site says they expect roughly 400 participants across the 4 categories including the kiddies race. What is obvious these are not professional events and are cycling events on the calendar like we have in our own countries regularly for everyone to participate.
Would anyone be expected to be paid for this type of event I think not and is no different from you or me taking part in a weekend race. What are we really sponsoring here?
My question is what the hell is Hive doing sponsoring someone who is clearly not atop rider on the world tour. How much visibility will Hive get from this event and from where I am sitting it seems whoever this @victorwallet is he is taking the piss literally.
If he is not designing his own clothing range adding the Hive logo as that makes this all legit. The $1736 this week is paying for a tyre repair kit and new tyres plus a suspension component apparently. Not only that we ae paying for his transport costs over a 2 day period for each event that lasts one day so maybe he has accommodation like hotel costs all at Hive's expense. he states he will be doing promotional activity on behalf of Hive, but seriously how is this legit?
I made the mistake of not asking @guiltyparties in my last post by not tagging him and am doing so now. I begged @valueplan to please look into this as the numbers do not add up and if people knew we were paying someone designing Hive merchandise for their own gig on an hourly rate of $20 per hour. I am a bit surprised we were not billed for this or have we already paid for that? Imagine creating your own job designing merch for your own gig and billing them for that time? You would be right to ask what else are we paying for if they are billing us hourly for their design work.
Why are these users receiving funds from Hive when clearly there is no benefit for Hive. There are no updates or posts on their events which raises serious concerns whether they are even attending these events. Surely if you were participating you would want to share what happened sharing your experiences to those who are funding you? A post highlighting this would seem normal nd something you could post on social media promoting Hive. Am I missing something here because this would just be obvious?
I do not like Hive to be taken advantage of and why there are some serious questions that need to be answered. I am pleading again please no more payments as Hive deserves far more as this seriously looks like milking benefitting the few being paid. Do we even know if @victorwallet is cycling this weekend and possibly someone could go and check up because how else do we even know?
