Someone has review bombed Hive, let's fix it.

The future success of Hive and its tribes depends on one thing: New users. More users to replace those that leave, and to invest in the token.
If we want to see the price of Hive increase (which I'm sure everyone does), we need to continue onboarding.

In my experience onboarding someone that doesn't have much interest in technology and crypto can be difficult, they have to learn the basics before they can begin learning about Hive. So maybe we should focus on attracting people that are already tech savvy.

First I'd like to thank @steevc for highlighting these reviews in the teamuk discord. It was his discovery that got me thinking about the little things that the average user such as myself can do to help Hive grow and flourish.

From SourceForges about page:

With the tools we provide, developers on SourceForge create powerful software in over 502,000 projects; we host millions of registered users. Our popular directory connects nearly 30 million monthly users with all of these open source projects and serves more than 2.6 million downloads a day. Our business software directory lists over 78,000 software titles.

Sounds like a site that would be really beneficial to make use of right? Well that's why I'm writing this. The only reviews (Except for Steevs recent glowing one) are disgruntled users giving extremely low ratings

Such as this little zinger:

Cons: If you earn more than $5 you get downvoted for earning too much.
If you ask someone why they downvoted your post a bunch of bullies come and downvote all your posts and take all your earnings.
They never tell you why they downvoted your posts so it’s very discouraging to new bloggers

Totally untrue as we all know. Sounds like someone got found out doing something they shouldn't and decided to take out their frustration by badmouthing Hive. I'm willing to bet this isn't the only site they did it on too.

So what can we do?

I think that page needs some accurate reviews. I'm not suggesting we should spam flawless 5* reviews as that would just look suspicious and damage our reputation further. But we need to get the word out about this brilliant platform and this is one way to do it.

The link to the page is:
https://sourceforge.net/software/product/Hive-Blockchain/

Will it help Hive grow? Who knows. Is there any harm in trying? Absolutely not.

Thx for this, just submitted my review

Seen it's just been approved, thank you for writing it.

can you review bomb steem on that site? :P

It is listed there, but I would advise against getting into a voting war. Good vibes only here.

The only good vibes I wish for Sunny boy is in a prison cell :)

Maybe we should change the way we deal with people who hold unpopular opinions instead of "fixing" the resulting reviews.

But also, yeah if you are a user who loves Hive go give it a review!

In the case of Mr "you get down-voted for earning more than $5", they were probably told to stop using other people's content but carried on. In my experience they'll be warned on one post and reply with "sorry I won't do it again", they'll then do it again and act shocked when their next post gets downvoted "without reason". There's not really any way we can deal with these people differently.

If they had a genuine reason for 1 starring Hive, such as user difficulty or not liking the content they found, I wouldn't include the review here as it doesn't need balancing.
