A Perfectly Good Airplane
Twenty something odd years ago I went skydiving. It was my one and only experience of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. There were different options you could choose when you signed up. There was the static line where you hooked onto the plane and your chute automatically deployed when you jumped. You only went up about 3-4 thousand feet for that IIRC, maybe less. There was the tandem jump where you were strapped to a jumpmaster who did all the work and you just went along for the ride. And there was the solo, where you did everything yourself.
I chose the solo. I figured if I was going to be stupid enough to do it, I might as well get the whole experience. So, a buddy and I took the eight hour class required, geared up, and hopped into this tin can of a plane. I'll never forget watching that dial slowly go around counting up the altitude. 1000 ft, 2000 ft, 5000 ft....knowing the whole time I had to jump out of this stupid plane when it hit 11,500 ft. It was a nerve-wracking few minutes. But, not nearly as nerve-wracking as climbing out onto the bars supporting the wing. lol And then having to throw myself off. Backwards! The wind rushing past as I clutched those bars with a deathgrip made me feel like I was going to saw myself in half on the tail rudder if I let go.
It took every fiber of my willpower to jump, but I did it. And immediately blacked out. lol As I found out afterwards, apparently that's not an uncommon occurrence. We are born with two innate fears, the rest are learned. The fear of loud noises and the fear of falling. Throwing yourself out of an airplane is such an unnatural act that the brain can shut itself down to protect itself. That's what mine did.
I tumbled for a few seconds and then at the back of my brain I barely heard a voice yelling at me to "Arch!" "Arch!" And I did. Next thing I know I'm flying through the air with the whole world below me, wind whooshing through my hair and a spectacular view all around. It was amazing. When people ask me what it was like I use this analogy. It's like driving on a washboard gravel road in a beat up pickup truck with a set of tools rattling around in the back, to suddenly being in a brand new Cadillac on a freshly paved asphalt road. It was crazy.

Needless to say, I survived or I wouldn't be here writing this story.
LeoFinance's New UI
The reason I bring this up, is because this is what I thought of when I started using the new UI on LeoFinance. The old UI was that gravel road. Sure, you got where you were going. But there were a lot of things making "noise" around you. Transitioning from page to page always took a little longer than it should. Sometimes posts would load without the comments and you had to refresh a couple times to get them. When you tried to write a post you always had to go through three or four steps to see what it would look like when posted. Figuring out where you were on #threads could be a challenge, especially if you were trying to look for comments or replies. Lots of "noise".
The new UI, however, is the Cadillac. Super smooth and fast, with a very sleek design and everything there for you on one screen. It's obviously got a ways to go before it is "fully loaded" (to continue the car analogy), but the machine itself is smooth as silk. Super easy to navigate and very easy on the eyes. #Threads is now the centerpiece of the entire vehicle. No longer are people restricted to only posting finance and crypto related material. It is now open to any and all content and is already becoming a great source for finding new articles and communities in the Hive ecosystem.
The Leo team has knocked it out of the park with this one and every upgrade and enhancement and new feature added moving forward is just going to make it that much better. It is going to be FUN to drive.
And that's what we want. The goal is to make this place fast, easy, fun, and profitable to use. Something no other social media platform out there can boast. It's been a long wait to get to this point, but @khal promised it would be worth it, and he was right.
LeoFinance has entered a new era. The pieces continue to be put into place to make this the "Everything" app we all want it to be. Today marks a huge step in that direction. The "Gateway" that is LeoFinance is expanding and the future is bright.
Hive is the Way.
LeoFinance, the Gateway.
