I know some of us might be thinking, is this guy nuts? Or has he never heard of the 'no risk, no reward' slogan?. Chill friends, we all have our stories to tell. Some may be breathtaking, emotional, others tactical and even to an extent of being senseless, it was a story. That said, experience has shaped us in several ways. I once said that some risks are no risk at all but a display of foolishness. Sorry if I am being too harsh here, I just hope you grab what I'm trying to table.

I could remember when I went out to rent my first business apartment. After research upon research, I finally found a place. The challenge was that the premises was not to my taste which would limit my business operation. So what did I actually do?, I had to put in extra money to renovate the place. I stayed there and did good business I must say, yet a time came when I had to part ways. To cut the whole story short, I had to relocate.

Does that mean I will have to move out with all the renovations I made there? Of course not. The truth is, the place wasn't mine and no matter how much I did put in there, the sole owner will be the full time beneficiary of it. Inasmuch as I would not call this an outrageous foolish act, I learnt something. One I have had to compare it to what is going on in our Internet presence.

Where are you building your future as an onliner? How safe is your blog and business platforms? Have you checked for possible future regrets? Trust me, if it happens it would be far more than what I experienced in my offline business. As I gradually become involved in online activities, there is a need to choose wisely. Owning a mini blog may seem not too interesting until you've spent time and it grows beyond your expectations. This may be when ownership and control will become your peak concerns.

I guess you are gradually getting why I said you should not risk it. We must be very sincere with ourselves when placing the ownership challenge of web2 on the table. It is worth our concern. The world is continuously advancing and I feel it's good to stick where you'll have the needed control. I have heard of several stories where reputable accounts were Frozen or deactivated in the web2 environments because they either voiced out or didn't play according to their rules. So what happens from here? It turns out it will be termed wasted years.

Without Control you are vulnerable

Unless you care less or nothing about building an online career but if you do, one thing would be to avoid the long term vulnerability trap. I know a lot of web2 influencers would have loved to be on web3 platforms yet they feel stuck presently. Not an easy task to make that U-turn anyway that's why this article is a reminder especially to new blog builders. Web3 focuses on data ownership exception of giving out a fair rewards.

It is worth leveraging this long lasting internet presence that will definitely shape the future of the web. Data ownership has been long debated that is why web3 finally surfaced. Do you think it will just die down? If you were to ask me, I would reply 'not anytime soon'. This industry that is tag small for now will become a boomer and I will only suggest you build where you can't be kicked out. Data is becoming a hot cake as we continue to advance, we've seen it mint millions to even billions to web2 platform owners. What if it generated it directly to you?

Maybe you never knew you might have been exploited one way or the other in a web2 platform you once registered. Data smuggling is illegal yet it's a big industry for those who unethically take advantage of such platforms. So what would be the easiest solution if not web3 platforms that refuse such access. Money has proven to have a huge presence in online activity and one needs to leverage what web3 is offering to reap the rewards that follows. New millionaires are set to emerge from the internet as it continues to host businesses and financial platforms yet one big mistake would be running such an industry under the mercy of platform owners.

To conclude, let me add, we need to carefully choose how our online future ought to be. Tech is advancing on a fast pace and trust me, starting afresh will be an inconvenience not worth while. Data ownership and account control is key and this is what web3 is offering coupled with various other benefits. Have you been limiting this industry? Maybe you've been misinformed all this while. Jump into the web3 ship and enjoy a new dimension of internet presence. No matter the heights you get, ownership will remain a key.
What do you have to say about this? Can web3 curb this challenge if not completely eliminate it. Join in the conversation and let discuss the future of web3.
