Hello all! Here we ar, the first Hive Goals post of 2025! I actually wrote 2024 in the title above, but I caught it in time! Anyway, let’s jump right in!
It’s time again to do another #myhivegoals post, a series idea started by started by @jongolson. This also doubles as my weekly progress report for #saturdaysavers, which is a fun little group that tries to motivate everyone to save and reach their goals. I’m going to look at the progress I’ve made on my Hive goals, as well as give a few tokens I’m looking at right now. If you are here for the comment SBI giveaway, well, we’ll get to that too.
Let’s start with my Hive goals.
Hive & HBD
I was thinking long and hard about it, and I think I will go with the numbers I floated in my last goals post. That means goal for this year will be 60k Hive and my stretch goal will be 70k. Even the first of those will be a challenge to meet, but I’m going for it!
Well this past week I really didn’t do much in terms of outside money in. I did make a bit trading the last pump, but I kept it liquid and used it to trade the current pump. When HIVE goes back down and I trade back into HIVE, I think I’ll still keep it liquid and wait for the next pump. So at least for the moment, my gains were almost entirely just from posts.
That in mind, last week I made 324.16, bringing me to 41810.25 total Hive Power. That’s 69.7% of my goal!
Math time. 60k - 41810.25 gives us 18189.75. Divided out by the days till the first of next year, we get 50.5 Hive needed per day to reach 60k by that point. That’s a bit higher than I earn from posts, so at least so far this goal isn’t happening just from organic growth. Oh well. We’ll see if my swing trading can push me up a bit more!
Actually I’m leaning towards doing a power-down. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet simply because I’ve been invested in HIVE for 8 years and haven’t powered down once, so there is a little mental hurdle to overcome here… but I am leaning towards a small powerdown of maybe 10k to give me more to play with in these HIVE pumps. If I do so, my short term goals will be to double it at which time I’ll power that initial 10k back up and then keep trading with what I gained from using it.
We’ll see what I decide, anyway!
Second Layer Tokens
So far this year I can’t think of any goals here beyond the goal from last year of 1000 BRO. But this is a very passive goal, as the cost of BRO is high enough that I’m not wanting to actively buy it, so I just collect and powerup what trickles in from the pools and from my HIVE delegation to brofi.
Token | Last week total | Goal | Needed | Note |
---|---|---|---|---|
BRO | 2.545 | 1000 | 364.8673 | 63.5% of the way there! |
We’ll see if any others pop up. I’m watching RUG and GIFU, but no real goals there yet. With these HIVE pumps now coming once a week, I may just ignore the second layer right now and focus on swing trading.
At any rate, feel free to suggest other tokens you happen to see and I’ll look at them.
Silver
The silver chart for last week:
Still under $20, but we did see it start to go up at the end of the week. As we approach the second begining of Trump, let’s see if anything happens here.
Here is a good looking coin that I came across today:
It’s a 2023 Democratic Rep. of Congo 1 oz Silver Dunkleosteus. What’s a Dunkleosteus…? It’s a prehistoric fish living about 380 million years ago. It had a bite force that is considered to have been the greatest of any creature that has ever lived. Nasty looking fish. Read about it on Wikipedia.
Giveaway
That stuff out of the way, let’s do our SBI drawing! If you are new here, I give away 5 shares of SBI every week to commenters on this post. If you also reblog and comment you get a second entry and double the award (if you win).
So how about this week? Let’s see… last post we had comments from @ashiru [x2] @blitzzzz [x2] @detectblock @dewabrata @foxkat @heruvim1978 @kerrislravenhill @ladymisa [x2] @littlebee4 @lupega @michael561 @shanibeer @silversaver888 @slothlydoesit [x2] @teatree @tht @vaynard86 [x2] @zakludick.
And the winners are…
@michael561 @shanibeer @kerrislravenhill @vaynard86 [x2] @tht!
Congratulations, everyone!
And forward we go! It was a strong week. Let’s see how this coming one goes!
