Well, I bought more Hive

For those of you who were around back in the Steemit days, I'm sure you remember @exyle's daily vlog posts. No matter what was going on with the price of STEEM, whether it was going up or dropping like a rock, one thing you could always count on was his daily post announcing that he had bought some more STEEM. Those were fun. The man was so incredibly positive about things. Shame he doesn't post on Hive anymore. But I guess I could say that about a large number of people who never made it over here after the fork.

Anyway, to borrow the phrase he used so much in his posts, "I bought some more HIVE". Well, I've been buying it since it started to dip. It's a gamble, sure. Hive the network could die, and HIVE the crypto with it, as all the doomsday users keep predicting. And if so, I'll be sad, more so at the loss of this great place than my money lost, but certainly that too. But I don't think it will die, at least not yet. And anyway, you know what they say: no risk, no gain.

Bitcoin has broken through and become known to almost everyone, it's became a normal asset that anyone can invest in with the ETF and is, and with the next bull run it may become even more well-known, in demand, and lead to even more eyes on crypto. Of course that could be good and bad. More investor eyes on crypto means more regulation. But that double-edge to the sword is always present in all things, and if we want the one, we have to accept the other. At any rate, the point is with the next bull run and the increased visibility of Bitcoin, this has the potential to bring a lot more users to Hive. I know, I know, we've said that before. It hasn't come to fruition yet; the potential remains, however.

It all goes back to I bought some more HIVE. And if/when it falls in price more (as it is again while I write this) I'll buy more.

Will it be a good move or a bad move? Time, I suppose, will tell.

Good on you for being able to see through the FUD. I wondered what happened to exyle as I used to read his stuff too. When it comes to crypto though, "you gotta be in it to win it." Hive is the people, and there are certain ones (like me) that have been here since the beginning. As long as we continue to believe in this community, we won't head off into "exile" anywhere. :)

He's still here and there in Splinterlands, but has never touched Hive, unfortunately.

I reminder him, I talked to him briefly at steemfest in Lisbon on the legacy chain. I was kind of sad of seeing him leave.

It was. I always hope out that one of these days I'll start seeing posts from him again.

I think that is a safe bet to pickup more Hive around $0.21 or better, I've been buying an extra tranch or three of Hive since going sub 0.20.

Good move. Me too! And I continue to do so even now.

I think it's a good move, buy it cheap and it will pay off once we see some return to the $0.30's...

30 at the lowest. I'm hoping for back to a buck!

I've been regularly buying with my HBD for a while now. That's about the only way we can here in the US. I think I'd be most sad about losing my time invested if HIVE went away.

I could write off the time invested. I'm gaining experience, if nothing else, like with any hobby. But losing the network would be sad for losing all the contacts. I may not be good friends with many people on here so much that I could show up at their house, but I do enjoy the daily interactions. I'd miss that.

I can agree with that. I don't know if I would hang out with some of these people in real life, but it's fun talking to them here :)

I'm waiting to see if the price drops again.

Part of me kind of hopes it does. So I can buy more!

True.. Time will decide but hoping Hive will remain in a long run.😊

I hope!

Still kind of blows my mind how STEEM seems to have more volume despite lower price and the fork, but with just a cursory glance that could all just be investor activity and not people trying to actively invest/engage with the platform.

I'm coming back to HIVE after a bit of a hiatus, I'll stick around as long as things remain relatively active.

There is a core group here that is fairly active, just as much as ever. Too bad it's a much smaller group than back in the day. Anyway, glad to head you are coming back!

Good on you! Xx

Thanks!

I really hope Hive does not die, This platform/blockchain has become a part of my life and honestly, I wouldn't know what to do with the time that I spend on HIVE.

Awesome to see positive minds for Hive and I hope buying more pays off financially as well for you :)

Thank you!
