During January, I did a few experiments with the price of my punks. Some of them, I already documented, some of them not. As we are close to the end of the month, I thought to give a short update.
If you're not familiar with the project, PunksOnHive is a generative art NFT project which I really like. It's very similar with the original Punks on Ethereum, only on Hive.
If you remember, my strategy was to keep my rarest punks aside, and see if I can monetize on the most common ones. After a couple of price adjustments, I am happy to report that I am (almost) breaking even: I paid 420 HIVE to buy 21 punks in total, and now I sold 15 of them, for 390 HIVE. The good news is that, out of these 21 punks, the remaining 6 are the rarest ones, so, theoretically, they are a better store of value.
The price for which I sold the punks varies between 17 and 37.
Out of the initial lot that I put on sale, I have only 2 punks left, both over 200 rarity, and both priced at 90 HIVE. I'm not in a hurry, and I patiently wait for the right buyer. At that point, I will be more than breaking even on the project, and I will still have some rare punks aside, to take care of me in the future (if need will be).
All in all, PunksOnHive was - and still is, actually - one of the nicest projects in the ecosystem.
Looking forward to the next one.
As an aside, I also had a little bit of fun with a couple of generative art projects on the Ethereum ecosystem (outside of the ones that I minted, that is) and, so far, I have to admit I like this entire NFT thingie.
We're just buying and selling JPEGs with make believe money. In this process, the make believe money do have a very good chance to become the actual money.
