A shill and a miss

in #hive-1679223 years ago

I have learned a lot about crypto over the last 4 years, and on HIVE at least I have also gotten to know a network of people, good people, who are doing good projects. Within this ecosystem then, I feel experienced, I know stuff and I've done stuff. Its all on the chain, anyone can see my results.

Well, that's if you know how to look at HIVE chain data.

I caught a tweet on my feed and I thought, wow, what a perfect chance to shill. Let's see what happens.

Here was the original tweet:

Well well well, I am doing just that - I have bought several pieces of land already. In fact, I am sharing one of them in token form for anyone who wants to get involved.

Here's my shill:

The response surprised me, not that I wasn't expecting the possibility of pushback, but just the way it was phrased: "You're not a Bitcoiner". That really took me aback. I have bitcoin. I buy and sell bitcoin. How am I not a bitcoiner?

Also I am not sure what part of the world people are using 'ser' instead of 'sir' or 'hey asshole'.

I asked about the rules of the game:

Aparently you need to have ONLY bitcoin. These bitcoiners really don't like having friends I guess. Natural allies who also have bitcoins, we don't count.

There are a lot of shitcoins out there, but it still surprises me that someone might take the leap into Bitcoin and believe wholeheartedly in it, but not think there is any value in iterating or experimenting with the same tech in new ways. I personally find more than one crypto interesting, and HIVE one of the most interesting and useable blockchains out there.

So now I'm just trying to back out gracefully. Our project really isn't a crypto other than the fact we are using a token. We are actually doing a pretty regular old security, put in money, build hotel, share money from hotel. Its a stock, just that these new technologies lets us issue stocks as tokens.

So okay, have a nice day Sir/Ser.

Ah this negative nancy. While again true that scams happen all the time, its like this guy thinks that the whole world is made up of scams and never anybody ever did anything positive. Except Satoshi Nakamoto I guess.

Anyways, this is just more of a glass half full, half empty bit. Good things do happen once in a while!

Then I went to bed.

Then I woke up in the morning.

🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦‍♂️🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏻‍♂️

Well, what more can I do. I certainly don't think I am a scammer. And I definitely don't want anyone who thinks I am a scammer to buy my tokens. Its a self-selecting subset of people that might want to get involved in this, I can understand that.

But I definitely need work on my twitter game.....

BTC is viewed more like gold. More legit, much of a more secured network. You aren't a scammer, but sometimes you need to exchange in the medium most recognize. You can always accept BTC!

That is true. BTC does have its place in crypto and there is a reason why it is on top. The things it does, which are few, it does very well.

Security is one.

Bitcoin is the most trending coin when you mention anything crypto Bitcoin comes first because of it impacts it has distributed

It is just the biggest and best known. The actual use cases for it are rather limited.

I hate BTC and ETH. they should go away. If any countries ban these protocols I will be actually happy. We can do better than that

So you are all for government intervention and tyranny?

there are much newer, better algorithms.
it is the same as I am for shutting down polluters.

BTC is the biggest so most people relate it to that. I wouldn't really think BTC maxis would understand and I do think your projects will succeed. Personally I think using crypto as a funding mechanism is a great choice.

Wow so this is the one you were referring to when you got called a scammer xD Funny story haha I'm also sure this won't be the last time this happens

Indeed, its just part of the hustle I think. @ecosaint

Obviously this unlearned peasant has no clue of the power of playing tejo with a Hive friend because hive tokenomics worked to create real world assets! You know my stance on this project already!!!!

They say BTC is rather bad for the environment. Some countries use some much energy to mine btc, that it can lit up some city's. It really depends if you believe in it or not. I remember buying it at $15000 then sold most of it back at $10000, having bought any more btc since. Eth I have never bought, perhaps should have when it was $100 as it is so useful ( can't afford now ). But now hive is the best so far as you can literally use it for so many projects all under one ecosystem !

Hahahaha, what a dork. I'm glad not to mess too much with the oldschool social media anymore. Hive all the way!

Dont worry Bitcoin maxis has the business and economic sense of cockroaches. They really have no clue.

They believe in a world of tyranny and hate the free market, without realizing it. They dont even know what they support.

They will come around once the second layer tech solutions like stacks bring use cases to BTC on smart contract functionality.

That could be although I have a feeling it will be the explosion of applications on other chains that make people realize the fact that Bitcoin is outdated technology already. Outside of security, there isnt much valuable the technology provides.

Yeah. It's so exciting that we are involved and witnessing the transition that is happening real time.

BTC has become the "facebook" of cryptocurrency. It's boomer territory now. It's scary for some people to go the few extra steps into the rest of the cryptoverse.

LOL terrific analogy, I never thought of that. A great line that I will have to remember.

Hive is rock solid. So fast, so reliable... Do they even know what they are talking about... I doubt they do.

I would give this a vote but I am trying to let my Voting Power replenish at the moment. 🤠

They have no idea what they are talking about, that is the problem. Nevertheless, we keep building Hive to the point where it is too powerful to ignore.

Indeed! 🤠

That's limiting. BTC is good but the being territorial is not. The blockchain projects could add value outside of BTC and that is certain.
