Human beings always have a keen ability to decipher what is authentic and what isn't. That's not to say we don't fall victim to fakes, but there's something about originality that I believe speaks to us. Indeed the Devil we're familiar with appears to be better than deceptive Angel we know nothing about.

This take on originality comes from recent events that have been happening in both my life and the social space. From a political standpoint you could say that people voted for who they belived was the more authentic character of the two candidates in the US elections. For me, I've also realized that the best relationships I've had has been with people who I've felt completely relaxed with, and able to express myself as I please.

Of course as part of human nature We're sometimes discouraged from presenting our authentic selves, especially if such selves Cannot measure up to the expectations of society. We're told to act a certain way in order to gain acceptance, or at the very least be our best selves so we don't ruin things with our originality. That holds some credence, and indeed there are some cases where blending in is probably the best option. Yet all am saying is that the majority of people will always be able to decipher ones authentic self from whatever they present.

Also there's something about being original that people respect. Choosing to be authentic actually means there's little care pretense and people respect that over time, even when they may not like it.
