Perpetual optimism is something I always rolled over my eyes as a teenager growing up. For some reason it didn't make a great deal of sense to remain so positive when there were more than sufficient reasons to simply throw in the towel. I saw it as being real, as opposed to being deluded. Fast forward serval years later and am quite willing to pick delusion as a consequence of choosing to be optimistic.
The reason for the change of heart isn't because the results necessarily transform once optimism is maintained, rather it is because it still serves the best course of action to take in such a scenario. However, I've observed over the course of time that perssimism does nothing for the cause, rather complicates it and more important, gets rid of any outstanding energy. To put it blunt if there was little hope being optimistic, not having any optimism ensures that whatver little hope there might be is quashed.
So I choose to see the glass as half full on a lot of things these days, and am quite convinced that things will eventually come around as long as I maintain the energy to keep making the effort. On the event that they don't quite work according to plan, there is always room to quickly adjust from one set of goals to another with the right mindset and motivation.
