Politics are pretty wild wherever you are in the World. In some countries they take away the choice completely so as to avoid retaliation from their citizens. In other climes politicians use every means in the book to get/stay in power - money, influence and sometimes outright force.
In the World's most democratic Country though, things here are a bit different. The game is an open one and while the politicians play a central role in the show, it is ultimately the people who decide where to pitch their tent. Some people become all too embroiled in politics and the political class that they forget politicians oftentimes act out of interest.
Being on the Winning or losing side can bring out some raw emotions, and sometimes it does feel like the future bleaks when do our preferred candidate doesn't emerge. Yet I want to point this out; which is that emerging on the losing side means for the most part that most, or a substantial number of people saw things differently. This is important to note, to avoid taking a self righteous stance on issues.
It's All A Game
Like it or not politicians are aware of the game of politics and do everything in their power to win. Once it is said and done they go back to the drawing board. As a supporter we must never get so attached that we believe only our point of view has the solutions, or refuse to accept things as they are.
I'll never lose a good night's sleep over politics.
