There's a trending topic by gtg on some of the progress Hive as made in terms of its core development over the years. Without mincing words, it is pretty obvious that Hive has come full circle since being launched some 8 or so years ago. So much has happened that has made the platform a lot richer and given us confidence about our ability to go mainstream and thrive.
We see the Devs hand in every hardfork, every proposal/execution and on every interface we choose including second layer interfaces. I think if Hive has experienced anything it probably is an overexcitement about our sense of direction rather than a reservation on it. We as a community have shared in the excitement of the Devs for years even when I like most people have limited knowledge of the actual background work done to improve both user interface and experience.
One of the points am trying to make here is that the Devs are certainly not wrong for being excited about what their project could potentially become. It isn't a case of 'living in our heads' which quite a few tech 'solutions' tend to do. The Hive platform fills a genuine need in the social media and decentralised finance space and still has a lot of unrealized potential about how much more it could develop. We still hopefully could see Hive and its second layer interfaces leave disruptions in several sectors including gaming, personal finance, content, amongst others.
If anything we've harboured the excitement for too long and have been rather underwhelmed by the reception so far. I certainly wish more people could discover how great this platform is because I genuinely believe that we're easily top ten in terms of crypto projects and the value that we offer. Of course the current valuation is not a good reflection of that school of thought, but like most people on this platform am keeping the hope alive that someday in the future we'll finally come full circle
