There is something about the changing of a Calender year. Even when we know for sure that it is merely a normal day as with others, there is still so much enthusiasm and hope that a new year brings. I've felt it before and I certainly feel it now. It seems like a shame to waste it which is why am definitely trying out for a fresh start to many things in my life. I believe it is human nature for us to be perpetually enthusiastic about our expectations and look to the future with hope.
There's nothing wrong with being hopeful, even when the evidence doesn't quite suggest valid reasons for such placed hope. We have a lot to be hopeful for especially because a new calender year presents and opportunity to start counting afresh, even when nothing in actual fact has really changed. Being given a fresh start, or at least a semblance of it has a lot of advantages to bear in mind. It means we're willing to temporarily discard the limitations for a lack of performance on previous occasions and forge ahead.
The year 2025 is no different. Whether we admit or not is irrelevant, as we've been given an opportunity to reset things and turn them around once again. Of course what we do with that opportunity is left to be seen, but it is there and ever present. Unlike previous years I haven't thought much about what I'll be doing with this opportunity at a fresh start, as experience has taught me to disregard the excitement. I'll instead be focusing on deep work while still setting goals that should hopefully yield positive reinforcers.
