Like many of you i have a Twitter account as well, or should i say X instead. To tell you the truth i am not a big fan of social media, i only use Messenger to talk with friends, a little bit of Discord to check some of the communities i am part of and ofc Hive where not only i interact, create and learn new things, i earn money doing so as well.
Thus, i don't need social media as you can see nor i am active in most of these. I don't even have an Instagram or a TikTok account. So the reason i created Twitter or X if you wish is simply for the giveaways. Yes yes i am that kind of guy, if something is free and there is a chance to win it without doing much i will try it.
At first i remember, i did a search for people who conduct giveaways and such and took part in their giveaways. It was mostly simply things like make a retweet and a like and follow. Even though in Hive or in general in social media that i have accounts i mostly "follow" none, as i prefer to "follow" only the people that i like, interact with or like their content, on Twitter i was basically following everyone that did giveaways :P.
Giveaways related to crypto and NFT not with other stuff as most of these giveaways had their prizes shipped only to the country the "owners" were living. So a couple of years ago that i started doing it, i think 3-4, most of these giveaways were actually pretty decent in any aspect. The people would actually give something and that something had a certain value, not much but still had one.
I may have taken part in more than 200 giveaways in total up until now, but still not much and i have managed to earn both NFTs and crypto. The NFTs were pretty much worthless in terms of price, i think maybe 1$-2$ was the most valuable one, but still i liked the art so no hard feelings. Regarding the cryptos, i have earned from Hive to shitcoins but the most memorable one was that i had earned i think 1 BNB when BNB was 50$. I still have that BNB and it's now worth 300$.
Twitter Giveaways Nowadays
For the past 2 years i don't remember actively searching for giveaways and such but during Christmas after all the family festivities were over i checked what was going on. To my surprise, i saw too many giveaways going on and for a short moment, i felt excited. I took part in around 30-40 but then i took a step back and searched most of these guys.
Turns out that most of these people are actually doing that in order to gain more followers and not only that, they actually never give anything back. It's a simple trick to basically acquire more followers and then by selling something entirely different or shilling a shitcoin they earn money. These kinds of people should be banned if you ask me.
The interesting thing is that i find more and more people to actually do this in comparison to a couple of years back. It is more honest in my opinion to even giveaway 1 Hive let's say than the promise of 100 Hive. So now i will be more careful when searching for giveaways and if i find people like them i will report them and reply back that they are pretty much scammers.
It's not like that i have been scammed and lost something but 1-2 minutes, i don't want other people to follow blindly these ones and get scammed by buying coins that they suggest, or be part of their exclusive tm page etc etc. At the end of the day when more and more people are scammed the crypto world loses in general and we don't want that.
