Did You Read The News Yet? 📰
This movie will be an adaptation of the book 'The Infinite Machine: How an Army of Crypto-hackers Is Building the Next Internet with Ethereum' written by a renowned financial journalist Camila Russo. She is also the co-founder of DeFi (Decentralized Finance) news publishing house known as 'The Defiant'. Scott is famous for his award-winning Hollywood flicks like Gladiator and Black Hawk Down. He also directed two movies in the Alien Franchise & one of the most popular dystopian movies of all time - Blade Runner. Shyam Madiraju is the chosen scriptwriter and director. As per the latest update, pre-production will start soon.
Personally, I always find movies more intriguing than reading books but this one is a story I would love to know about in as much detail as possible. The movie will be partially funded via NFT collection sales by Ethereum community using Ethereum's technology. Isn't that cool? Check out their opensea collection of 10,499 unique NFTs created by 36 emerging artists representing their vision of Ethereum values. A portion of the proceeds from these sales will go these artists too.
The Infinite Machine
The book tells you the story of Ethereum's founder Vitak Buterin, a 19-year-old coding ninja who led a team of blockchain enthusiasts to create one of the greatest blockchain networks of all time. It also tells you about the lows and highs of Ethereum's journey and how it changed the world of finance forever. Based on years of thorough research and interviews, Russo tried her best to explain Ethereum's value proposition and vision for the future. She actually lived in the small town of Zug just outside of Zurich, Switzerland where Ethereum was born. I have found one of the best reviews of the book on Decrypt. You can check it out yourself to find out if you will wait for the movie or read the book. I have already downloaded it because I cannot wait that long. 🙈
Filmmaking For Crypto Adoption
Earlier this month, Coinbase announced The Degen Trilogy, the animated film about the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collection. It's great to see WEB3 getting into the mainstream media now via the film industry. Filmmaking is one of the most impactful mediums of art to teach the masses about this life-changing technology. Most crypto-related movies & documentaries made in mainstream media are related to scams and hacks or talk about Bitcoin. But now we are seeing more different themes being tried out on a bigger scale. Movies are great to document, learn and experience what early adopters experienced and how it shaped our future. The influence of crypto has intensified over the past decade and it's only normal to see all industries adopting or at least talking about it.
