I just finished listening to the recording of Crypto Mondays with Jon and Blain from this week a few minutes ago.
One of the topics was Listnerds. It came about in the discussion that people sharing their Hive posts on Listnerds receive their upvotes on Listnerds, but also on Hive.
And that is true, I can confirm that, as someone who share my posts on Listnerds and also upvote other posts shared through the platform.
That talk along with my experience with Listnerds gave the idea for this post, actually.
One can receive the additional Hive benefits (engagement, upvotes, reblogs, follows), if a Hive post is promoted on Listnerds. Not otherwise! Seems logical, isn't it?
If you don't share a Hive post but expect these benefits it's much like that joke about praying to win the lottery, but without buying a ticket. Except by sharing a Hive post on Listnerds some form of extra Hive rewards is almost guaranteed, unlike winning the lottery.
I talked about the benefits of using Listnerds before, so I'm not going to repeat myself.
What I'd like to point out specifically in this post is that it can pay off to write a blog post on Hive about whatever you are promoting, instead of doing it directly via the email.
Yes, it's extra work to write the post and yes it's an additional step people need to take from the email to the blog post and then to the product you are promoting. But if it's done in a smart way, that should work. Especially if you value feedback and what you can learn about what you're promoting this way.
What I find curious is that even affiliate programs from Hive are often promoted directly, without a good blog to convince me to join using the respective link.
Who knows? Maybe I have questions and you can clear them up for me. And you can do that in the comments section of your blog.
Plus, of course, you miss out on the Hive rewards.
Yes, it's easier to put together a few email lines, or even a great email and add a link, maybe even an image. If you also automate it, job done!
What I say is the extra work of linking that to a Hive post might pay off. You can at least try it and see how it works out for you.
It has been more than once when I wanted to upvote and comment on an email I see in Listnerds, only to discover it goes to a lead capture page or worse, directly to the program's homepage.
While lead capture pages build email lists, we have to keep in mind these are mainly instruments of unidirectional communication, in an era where engagement is the key. And that is where a Hive blog post can make the difference.
That's my 2 cents.
