Hive has been like a home to a lot of people, I am still a little new to Hive but I know a lot of people who have made a living out of it, and even some have huge investments in the platform too. I love the aspect of getting people rewarded for what they contribute to the community. This could be a form of payback to the community users
Removal of reward pool for long-form content creation
This is another interesting discussion spearheaded by the Co-host. Eric gave his views about removing the reward pool, and then he also said he is not against or supporting the idea but there should be some other way around this. So his thoughts were about using the reward pool as an advantage to bring more people to the Hive ecosystem.
My opinion about this is that I really can't even imagine a hive without the reward pool. I can say this kind of system is what makes up an incentive for those who put in their time and dedicate their efforts to making up posts on Hive. There are a lot of platforms out there that are no more in existence just because of the removal of rewards from the ecosystem.
Some users will be present, but most might have to leave. Because I repeat that the reward is part of what keeps people on and active.
Wrestling gave his point about the AI content creators and also using it to bring out loads of posts and then at the end of it all they get to sell off their tokens and dump the market just to make sure they get to feed their family and also make a living.
To me, making a living on Hive or through writing is cool. But using AI to farm upvotes is a NO to me. I see that as a form of cheating and not wanting to put in effort for what they earn. This should be tackled for real.
Khal gave his thoughts about monetizing the platform and spreading the word about hive. And also making use of the reward pool to incentivize users too.
Layer 2 tokens also have their values too. And this could be something we can work on, as users can also get rewarded through that. But still, the hive token stands as a general reward system. So rewarding content based on impressions will go a long way. And will also aid the reward system.
I also love the way inleo rewards their users based on stakes and also based on their efforts. Not just some sort of spam post getting a huge amount of upvotes.
Tsunsica also gave her thoughtful insight about what it takes for big stakeholders on hive to go about the change that could be made possible on how the reward people work as Hive is still on the verge of rooting for users to onboard the platform.
Deeann gave her thoughts about not just staying in hive without getting something to reward her efforts. Then what's the difference from her spending her time on Facebook or some other web2 platform.
In my opinion, i also agree with her opinion. This is the pure difference between web3 hive and every other web2 platform. We are on hive because of the decentralized system and also because of the taste of blockchain and so many other features. Hive should keep growing and growing and not just make some kind of mistake that will cost them a lot.
In conclusion,
Hive has been saving lives and a lot of people have a hope of living, some also get to create and establish a lot of huge projects out of their earnings on Hive. So I go with the idea that the reward system should remain on Hive.
