Hive Blockchain on CoinMarketCap and beyond

in #hive-1679222 years ago

I'm sure many of us have noticed when searching the internet or YouTube for Hive Blockchain news that most of the information found is about a corporation "Hive Blockchain," which mines Bitcoin and Ethereum. For most, it's easy to confuse that stock owned Hive corporation with our Hive Blockchain web3 community.

If this isn't bad enough, I was surprised to notice today that CoinMarketCap is providing news about the Hive corporation with Hive Blockchain web3 coin (crypto) price. Are others concerned or frustrated with this? Is anyone aware of efforts to differentiate these two very different entities on the web? I'm mostly concerned about hampering effects on our community's exposure and its impact on expansion.

Yes, this is a problem. I get the same search results. It could have been avoided with a trademark search.

I don't know which came first, but if Hive grows and does manage to attract the masses, that could become a major issue and possibly even a legal one.

100% agree

It is a good idea to do a trademark search before choosing a brand for your product or blockchain.

Blaming others for the confusion that results from failure to do a trademark search is foolish.

Come on guys, the whole reason for a trademark system is to avoid market confusion.
