Generate TONS Of Traffic W/ Optimized Content Despite Absence Or Writer's Block(!) - REAL Growth!

Organic Traffic Never Sleeps!

Making one post per week might seem worthless or a waste of time and I'm sure that most people would agree that being very active and to produce content once or twice per day would be "the best approach" in terms of growing your own account.

I will not tell you otherwise, because I also believe that being active and to engage is “what it takes” to really make something out of your Hive/community journey. What I will tell you though, is what I have been telling people for a very long time already.

  • Nothing beats organic traffic, or in other words optimized content.

Unfortunately, content creators are not being rewarded for content older than 7 days, so the several thousands of posts I have made since I first started out is "old news" and way back in the past. Worth nothing at this day and age.. Right?

  • Wrong.

It is true though, that I am not able to earn more rewards from those older posts, but older posts can still hold value several years after they have been published.

This is where organic traffic come in, which is also the key ingredient to ever be successful as a platform or a community. Nothing beats organic traffic. You can spend millions of dollars in attempts to bring eyeballs to Hive or any of your favorite communities or dApps, but it will only bring so called "bursts of traffic", which could obviously be amazing and bring fantastic results..

  • But it doesn't last for long.

I published an article one year ago. More exactly 2021-06-06. The title of the article is: How Often Should You Buy And Sell Crypto and that same article is the ninth best article on LeoFinance in terms of organic traffic. That article is bringing traffic on a daily basis from all over the world, even though the majority of the traffic is coming from United States.

The article was published 390 days ago and we can easily see that it has generated a total of 277 page views. That's not traffic each and every single day, so it would be somewhat false to state "on a daily basis".. However, if we take into consideration that organic traffic takes time, and if we look at more recent numbers, we can see something entirely different.

All Page Views Since Publication Until Today.

If we look at the details for one month instead, which means the page views for the entire month of June, we can see this:

trafic1month.png

You can see that the article brought 25 page views during the month of June, but I also hosted a contest rather recently, where I was looking to build links towards that article. Those results have not yet been able to affect the rankings, so we could actually see a boost in terms of traffic just due to those "support posts" we saw being published previously.

That being said, while some- or perhaps even most of the content creators often focus on their own return and the rewards they are making short term, it's actually rather easy to see that most content creators are also not doing that much to actually put "Hive on the map".

Look, I don’t judge people or their approach. Everyone is different. What we do have in common though, is that everyone wants Hive to truly thrive along with all its communities. Everyone wants Hive to be successful and that we become the "next big thing" because that means money.

The token price would rapidly increase and many of the current Hivers could retire in an instant due to all the tokens they have been able to accumulate throughout the years they have been putting in time and effort. That's the dream scenario for many of us. Others does not dream “big like that”, but they obviously wish that all their efforts would lead to a big chunk of profit in some way, at some point.

  • What more people should focus on though, is traffic and not amount of tokens.

In the best of worlds, we want to have tons of tokens and a shit ton of traffic simultaneously, but the more people continues to focus on their own wallets, the less chance we have to ever truly thrive and see real mass adoption that everyone seems to be dreaming about so often.

I made a total of 134.65 LEO on the post I published a year ago. A post that was rewarded very well. If we look at the Hive earnings, I made $30.62 upon payout. Also a number I personally am very satisfied with.

If we look at more famous- or well-known users, we can see similar or rewards way beyond that on more or less every single post they make. Regardless of what they publish.

This is natural and these users deserves those rewards for everything they have done. For all their effort, blood, sweat and tears they've beeing pouring in for years. I don't argue with that and I think that is perfectly fine. It's how things are supposed to be when you "climb the ladder" so to speak.

However, the post I am talking about was published a year ago and is the ninth best post in terms of traffic to LeoFinance. We have people far more successful than me in terms of traffic so this is not something I write because I am complaining about the actual rewards or anything like that. I am just trying to "think outside the box" and I am trying to be realistic.

I also understand that it can be difficult for people to understand how powerful a post can be in terms of traffic once it has just being published. It can be almost impossible for people to see the potential, so we can't really reward a post because "it might be a shooting star".

  • In hindsight though, do you think a post about someone’s morning routines for instance should be worth more than a post that brings in traffic on a daily basis?

And once again, I don't complain on the actual rewards this or that gets. Value is in the eyes of the beholder and whatever. We like and appreciate different things, so we can reward whatever we want.

I personally believe that optimized content that generates organic traffic is worth more than basically anything else that is being published on Hive or any of the communities. I do understand that not everyone is interested in producing optimized content for various reasons, but I am certain of the fact that optimized content will lead to growth.

It's not easy to convince people to optimize their content though, if they don't feel that they are being rewarded "enough" for the effort they put in. If they make the same- or more for a random "morning routine" post, they are far more likely to stick with that rather than to optimize their content.

  • How About Using The DHF For Organic Traffic?

This is very true. We normally forgo the big picture for rewards. Making our posts just that posts. As we don't put in the amount of research or eork needed to move the platform forward

Hmm. You're making strong points here. Well, I'm sure a lot of people don't know about optimizing their posts for more organic traffic, they're mostly depend on the hive community for their traffic and views. Then I know you've been doing a great job enlightening hivers on organic traffic but surely knowledge on the matter is still not widespread.

We just have to make it clear that evergreen traffic is only valuable if the team implements leofinance.io ad revenue buy-backs on the LEO token.

Any news on this front, guys?

PS. Looking at the daily stats for organic Google referrals is always interesting:

I think using the DHF for organic traffic wouldn't be a bad idea but I don't really think it will happen with the current stakeholders.

there's a lot to learn about SEO optimization and how to leverage that in blog posts. Mastering it is a goal of mine, but I feel like I've barely got my feet wet in the learning process. Also, I wish I had the extra time to write even a post a day...I'm lucky to even post once a week and I don't always get that done. I work two jobs, so I substitute my blogging by turning some of my fiat into hive every paycheck. Obviously not as cool as getting Hive for writing, but someday I'll have more time to write more.

The idea of rewarding posts that sell Hive and its communities to the outside world is a good one. How could this be done though?
