Its week 17 (27/04/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.
My goals for this year are:
- Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
- Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).
I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.
This weeks pic - I took a walk to Cammo Park on the edge of Edinburgh one evening this week. The tower above is located there. I think it is just a folly, there seems to be no real reason for it, but its pretty enough to look at. It was also nice to catch some colour behind it as the sun was starting to set.
Weekly Investment Focus
- My main activity this week was posting. I managed 8 posts this past week, which is my max output. Having Inleo Premium is continuing to give me the incentive to make sure I'm posting regularly. There is no doubt for me that Premium is worth having, just for the up-votes from @leo-voter alone - never mind any of the other benefits, so I will be continuing to purchase Premium each month going forward while I'm posting regularly,
- It was a great week on the HBD:HIVE trading front, I had 36 trades go through compared to last weeks 9, which I wasnt expecting. As can be seen from the 7 day HIVE price chart below there were a couple of nice peaks and troughs in the latter half of the week and I was catching trades going up and down on those which made the difference - long live volatility which creates the ideal grounds for flipping !

Weekly Stats
Weekly commentary
- HP Gain: I gained +100 HP during the week with my increased posting activity providing the majority of that income,
- HP Passive: 17.34 of my HP gain this week came from curation (not really passive) and HP APR. Not quite as high as last week, but still nice,
- HP goal: My HP total now stands at 12330 HP and I need a further 9170 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 35 weeks to go, that requires 174 per week (an increase of 7 HP). Its going to be difficult to hit my annual goal unless I can keep up posting activity and HBD:HIVE trading throughout the year,
- HP delegation to @eds-vote: My HP delegation to @eds-vote increased by +8HP to 2157 HP. I need to delegate another 843 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 23.8 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve (I will do what needs to be done to hit it by the end of the year),
- HP delegation to curation accounts: I delegated another +7 HP to @curangel to bring that total to 236. The aim to to take that to 250 HP, so there is only 14 left to go, which should happen within the next two weeks - nearly there !,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: The main aim of these community delegations is to support these great curation accounts that have certainly helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from @ocdb, @qurator and @curangel as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !
I tend to reinvest those HIVE drips from the curation accounts back into my HBD:HIVE trading fund, giving a nice little synergy to growing another income stream, - EDS: I gained +1.9 EDS. My 2157 HP delegation to @eds-vote brought in +1.02 EDS this week. The rest of the gain seen came from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 146 of those) and the weekly drip from holding 7 EDSD (which was 0.04 EDS this week). I selected increasing my delegation to @eds-vote as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total,
- HBD:HIVE Trading: As said above the trading conditions for HBD:HIVE flipping were really good this week and as such I had 36 trades go through for a gain of around 32 HIVE. I wasnt expecting it to go so well, but the short lived pumps in the second half of the week really helped. Just to clarify, I dont sit and watch the price all day. I calculate and set all of my trades in advance, and that means when pumps happen I will catch them, because everything is set up - this makes a huge difference. I dont try to time the market.
Plan for the coming week
- Regular Posting: Regular posting (daily) is the key to HP growth. As said above I've continued to keep up the momentum on this front and its paying off,
- Posting via Inleo: I'm continuing to post mostly using Inleo due to the extra LEO this generates. Its making a difference especially noting that I have Inleo Premium. The general trend of the price of LEO seems to be upwards, so I think its a good time to be generating and stacking LEO,
- Curation: To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards. My curation is mostly manual and I try to keep my voting mana between 80 to 90%,
- Undelegated HP: To continue to increase undelegated HP in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
- HBD:HIVE trading: To continue with HBD:HIVE trading. I'm going to keep adding more funds to my trading capital from post payouts over the coming weeks. HBD:HIVE trading has been working well for me, so I may as well take advantage of that and try to increase the profits on my trades - increasing my trading capital will help to make that happen,
- HP delegation to @eds-vote: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to @eds-vote will add a further 10 HP,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 10 HP to my @curangel delegation.
Summary
In summary it was a really good week. My posting went well and my HBD:HIVE trading went well - so there are absolutely no complaints from me !
My Tribe Token Investment Project
My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account @hoosieboy is moving along nicely. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.
I undertook my latest rebalance last weekend. It was a really interesting as I had been expecting the funds to take a battering on price, but that didnt happen and in fact the total value went up. I've also been able to add additional analysis on whats making it go up or down now that I have more data, and I 've also been able to start HP delegation too. The total amount of tokens keep increasing as well (and took a nice jump across a number of them with this last rebalance), so things are going well. You can check out my latest rebalance post on my @hoosieboy alt account here.
And as a reminder:
- It will be Hive Power UP Day (HPUD) on Wednesday (1st of May) - I can hardly believe we are going into may. Get your HP at the ready for Power Up !!!,
