Its week 25 (23/06/24) of my savings focus for 2024 with the Saturday Savers Club which is a great Hive community initiative run by @shanibeer writing as @sally-saver on the @eddie-earner account.
My goals for this year are:
- Primary goal - to increase my HP by 7500, to 18500 HP,
- Secondary goal - to increase my HP delegation to @eds-vote by 1000 HP, to 3000 HP (because I want to accumulate more of the EDS token).
I will also be continuing to increase my holding of investment tokens, and delegating HP to a number of good community curation accounts as well.
This weeks pic -I took a quick trip to Pitlochry this week, and went for a nice lunch in the cafe just above the Dam. Its hydro-electric generating dam which has a fish ladder for all of the salmon to pass, so that they can spawn further up river. Its pretty cool because you can actually go and see the salmon swimming up ! They also have an electronic fish counter in the fish ladder, and about 1500 had gone up over the ladder this year so far.
Weekly Investment Focus
- I released more HIVE from my HBD:HIVE trading fund this week (as you'll see below). With the price of HIVE so low it seems pointless to have some trading pots sitting waiting for HIVE to get back up into the $0.40s - so I released more of those so that they could atleast actively earn APR and contribute to curation earnings,
- I added more liquidity to the PWR:SWAP.HIVE pool this week. It looks like PWR will start paying dividends later in the year (maybe ~Sept), so I'm keen to pick up some more in anticipation of this,
- I re-invested quite a bit of staked RLM I had back into the REALM NFT game on the WAX blockchain. I bought one of the promo packs for Season 12 which has just started and also another 4 star leader NFT. This should really help to boost my account and earning potential. So I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes,
- I've continued to take a lot of interest in Alien Worlds, another play-2-earn game. That seems to be going well, and I even got a nice little TLM payout from a writing contest they held this last week, which allowed me to buy a nice mining NFT (exogloves). So this seems to be working out quite well too.

Weekly commentary
- HP Gain: I gained +502 HP this week. A lot of this was related to releasing funds from my HBD:HIVE trading fund, and took me above the 14k HP mark which is great !,
- HP Passive: 21.57 of my HP gain this week came from curation (+12.74 HP, not really passive) and HP APR (+8.83 HP - based on the current HP APR of 3.24%) - which is another highest weekly income figure for this. Its making a big difference each week,
- HP goal: My HP total now stands at 14175 HP and I need a further 4325 HP to hit my primary goal of 18500 HP. At 27 weeks to go, that requires 158 per week (a decrease of 12 thanks to this weeks large power up). The annual target is certainly looking rather difficult to hit, but I'll keep aiming for it,
- HP delegation to @eds-vote: My HP delegation to @eds-vote increased by +88 HP to 2594 HP. I need to delegate another 406 to hit my secondary target to raise my total delegation to 3000 HP. That will require an average of 15 HP delegated per week to hit it, which I should achieve (even if it means dumping more than planned in to hit the goal),
- HP delegation to curation accounts: I delegated another +87HP to @qurator to bring that total to 232. The aim is to take that to 250 HP - so I have 18 to go - which will happen this week. I will then move onto increasing my delegation to @worldmappin next (which has taken over the legacy of @pinmapple) - its a great community curation initiative and I want to support it more,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: The main aim of these community delegations is to support these great curation accounts that have certainly helped me along the way to where I am now, but I'm also getting nice daily drips of HIVE as a result from @ocdb, @qurator and @curangel as they pass on their curation income to delegators, which is a nice little bonus !
I tend to reinvest those HIVE drips from the curation accounts back into my HBD:HIVE trading fund, giving a nice little synergy to growing another income stream, - LEO (which includes LP): I gained 23 LEO this week, which is a nice amount. It keeps on building up nicely,
- HP delegation to @leo-voter: I added 1 HP (!) to my delegation to @leo-voter this week (actually it was due to HP APR growth). I do intend to add to it further later in the year (after my curation account and @eds-vote delegation targets have been completed) but am monitoring it anyway because its an important part of my LEO growth strategy,
- EDS: I gained +3.08 EDS which is a little higher than normal, so thats great. My 2594 HP delegation to @eds-vote brought in 2.54 EDS this week. The rest of the gain seen came from the mining lottery for holding EDSMMs (I have 146 of those). I selected increasing my delegation to @eds-vote as my secondary goal as I'm really keen to keep accumulating EDS, and focusing on the HP delegation works well with my primary goal of increasing my HP total,
- HBD:HIVE Trading: I didnt have any trades go through again this week due to the low price of HIVE being outside of my active trading range. However, I have continued to use HBD from post payouts to extend my lower trading range, so hopefully that will help, assuming the price will pick up a little soon. Its really hard to tell whats going on with the price at the moment, so we'll see what happens in the coming weeks.
Plan for the coming week
- Regular Posting: Regular posting (daily) is the key to HP growth. I didnt do so well on this front last week, so need to try and do a bit more, especially while the price of HIVE is so low,
- **Posting via Inleo: ** I'm continuing to post mostly using Inleo due to the extra LEO this will generate. Its making a difference, as is having Premium,
- Curation: To be active in HIVE Blog curation to help with HIVE curation rewards. I mostly try to keep my voting mana between 85 to 95%,
- Undelegated HP: To continue to increase undelegated HP in order to improve HIVE curation rewards,
- HBD:HIVE trading: To continue with HBD:HIVE trading. I'm going to keep adding more funds to the low end of my trading capital from post payouts over the coming weeks. HBD:HIVE trading has been working well for me, so I may as well take advantage of that and try to increase the profits on my trades - increasing my trading capital will help to make that happen,
- HP delegation to @eds-vote: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to @eds-vote will add a further 50 HP,
- HP delegation to curation accounts: This weeks delegation of 10% of my weekly HP income to community curation accounts will add a further 50 HP in total. It will complete my delegation to @qurator, and then I'll start delegating more to @worldmappin.
Summary
So it was a busy week again, with lots going on. A lot of my focus this week was on play-2-earn games again, as I do see those as a viable income stream going forward (and an enjoyable one too). I'm also happy with the way my HP is going - breaking the 14K mark was pretty awesome, and at halfway through the year, my annual target of getting to 18.5k HP by the end of the year looks possible. And importantly, while the price of HIVE is so low - its time to earn more of it !
My Tribe Token Investment Project
My experiment with 8 different tribe tokens on my alt account @hoosieboy is moving along. The experiment is designed to grow semi-passively via staking, curation, posting and rebalancing - in a way where the methods should work together and add constructively. Everything gets re-invested back into curation accounts for the same 8 tribe tokens, so it also provides a positive boost to those tribes.
My last rebalance was 3 weeks ago which racked up another small gain due to some nice increases in the price of PIMP and CENT in particular. There has been quite a bit of turbulence in the layer-2 markets, hence is been a bit up and down of late. I'm still really enjoying the experiment because each rebalance is different due to all of the methods at play. Getting an insight to those is proving to be really interesting (to me anyway). At 3 weeks, I'm due another rebalance, so I'll have to get that done.
