God knows I struggled to come up with a financial post today. But I just got on LinkedIn a few minutes ago and I found a mind-blowing pitch. While watching that video I looked out for all the qualities I learned a good pitch should have and it was there. To think that just two days ago I wrote a post about pitching your business ideas to investors for someone. And yesterday, I did another post here on Hive on " stating with clarity why you are in business"
The emphasis had been on always sharing your reasons for being in business. Why the hell should anyone care about your products and services? And I rightly said,
The thing is people do pitches and they talk about their business, what they do, and probably how they do it. But forget to lead you into why they do it. You'll probably make great waves if you don't know why you are in business
In a truer sense, you would agree that the different products or gadgets you are using are because somehow you could relate with the reasons the products or gadgets were created. They align with your values. So, you will buy them regardless of the cost
I am writing this post to remind you that although you wanted a business to make money...Somehow, it might not fall through if people are not inspired to place a buy order. It's really about how it makes people feel. If you can speak into the heart of the people with your " why", you have won half the battle.
For instance, right here on Hive. I have noticed that the post that gets the most comments are the ones my friends/followers can relate to. Even on dreemport, any day, my post is part of the daily ranking, I assume a few things. It's not because my punctuations were correct nor was it because I am a very good writer. It's not even because I knew how to edit it better. It was mostly because of how I made my audience feel.
With this, every day, when I create a post, I try as much as I can to pour my emotions into it and figure out how to write so you could feel some of those emotions too. All these things I have known and learned thanks to the learning curve on Hive, I can confidently apply to other areas of my life.
The basic emotions of humans are what every business should target. If your adverts can make people think of the things that mean a lot to them, then you are spot on. This could be their families, children, future, health, wealth, fame, bodies, prestige, etc. I guess this is why copywriters that get this part right make the most sales for the businesses they promote.
Elon musk knows the earth is already feeling suffocating to us, he promises us life in space and the crowd flocks to him. Satoshi knew our government and financial institutions are draining us by the day with inflation and money printing with no valuable assets to back them up, he promised us decentralization and here we are adopting it as the day goes by.
To win in a world that is saturated with business ideas, you need to learn to speak to the hearts of the people through your products and services. I have solidified this learning and I hope you do too.
Ps: I would love to leave you a link to the pitch, so you can watch it and let me know if it's worth my hype. I apologize I don't know how to share LinkedIn video links so you can see a preview without leaving Hive. If anyone has an idea please let me know so I can edit and add it for everyone. Thank you.
