Price evolution Chaos Legion cards

Much has been said about this latest edition of cards, about their great power in the game and also the airdrops have served to feed the hype even more, but something that is not being taken into account often is the evolution in the price of these cards in the market and I think it is a point that should be taken into account if you are thinking about improving your deck because it helps you make that difficult decision that is: Where to invest? That is the question I will try to answer in this post, so here we go!

Common Cards:

With this great tool from Splintercards you can see the concrete data on the evolution of prices and with that make your own analysis. As you can see above the Chaos Legion Common cards have maintained a downward projection compared to a month ago, only the Riftwing has registered a rise in its Trend lately and still remains in a downward range of 0.162$, Crypt Beetle, Supply Runner and Antoid Platoon are the ones that have decreased its price over the previous month but speaking of the Trend in general there are beastly figures, as the same Antoid Platoon with a -60.6%.

  • Is it a good place to invest?

I would say yes, so taking into account that only about 2,775k packs have been opened out of the almost 7,000k packs sold (i.e. more than 50% of the packs bought are still closed) it is easy to think that the prices of these cards will continue to fall when more packs are opened but some of these prices are already very close to the burn price (currently at 0. 0144$) while the price of the cheapest card right now is 3 cents (and 3.6 cents for the cheapest Chaos Legion) so I wouldn't expect a meteoric drop in price below 2 cents per BCX so yes, it seems to me the right time to go to the market for common cards.

Rare Cards:

We have already started to talk about the Rare cards and things are starting to change a bit, starting with the much desired summoners, which at first glance are the cards that have dropped the least in price but you can see in the graph you can see that they have not lagged behind in the normal decline in the price of cards. A total of 28 cards, with a 0.862$ average, these remain well above their burning price right now.(0.0577$) generally speaking, with some exceptions that have had exorbitant numbers like the Venari Spellsmith or the Molten Ash Golem with a Trend of -80.9% and -68.5% respectively.

  • Is it a good time to invest?

I have divided opinions although I am more inclined to say yes. They are quite cheap but I am very optimistic that we can see them lower in general, however there are certain cards that are already close to that perfect purchase price, it only remains to analyze which are the ones you like for your deck and go for them.

Epic Cards:

We are already in strong territory talking about investments when maxing these cards normally but... is this really so? Not really.
These cards are an average of 17 cards / 1.657$, to max an Epic CL needs 46 cards (76.222$) and a Rare costs much more than that (99.13$). Of course this is speaking in general terms, some cards will be more expensive than others but it is quite curious. But talking about the cards, only Igor Darkspear has remained in a Trend below 30%, the others exceed that figure reaching almost 60% as is the case of Tusk the Wide.

  • Is it a good time to invest?

Comparing the burn price (0.2889$) with the average price of the cards (1.657$) the epic cards are still well above their base value and taking into account that only 50% of the edition has been sold and less than 25% of it has been opened, I think it is good to wait for the opening, although it is up to each one to decide, because opening packs does not guarantee that the cards will have meteoric price drops, as they say, DYOR.

Legendary Cards:

And finally the always desired Legendaries, let's start by taking the good Doctor Blight out of this equation because it is basically a Promo card, its price has remained practically stable and also the Airdrop cards because they have little time in circulation, the burning value of a card Legendary from Chaos Legion is $1.44, the cheapest Legendary right now is worth more than quadruple that and it is understandable due to the rarity of these cards (an average of 22 cards and 14.681$) with these there has been a rebound effect in recent days where rather than keep going down, they have increased their price (some considerably).

  • Is it a good time to invest?

You have to consider the price, which, even well above the burning value, is very low compared to past editions and if we add these price fluctuations to that, I think that the time to get hold of these cards is right now.

Concluding...

Chaos Legion brought a spectacular opportunity for new players to get on the Splinterlands train with this new edition of cards and whether you're still waiting or not, I think you have to prepare to get into this opportunity because when the edition is finished, I don't know you'll see these prices again now, keep in mind that a common reward card was worth about 20 cents 2 months ago, today it's about 2... that won't happen again, so don't be left out!
