Happy new month Hiveans, and Happy Halloween to all parts of the world. However, when going out, please be aware of the consequences. You've probably heard about the terrible Halloween news. Let us simply pray for the souls of those who died in a Halloween party stampede in South Korea. Hopefully, it will not occur in other parts of the world.
Anyway, going back to the important event today, it's another #HPUD (Hive Power Up Day)!
Everyone is always excited about this day, aren't you? Who doesn't like to participate in this event anyway?
Well, we always have newbies here. So to all newbies out there who aren't aware of this event, here are some perks of joining HPUD.
It will help us strengthen our influence on the blockchain.
It will help us earn more curation rewards.
And the perk of earning 3% interest per year from the amount we hold is pretty much worth it.
And the most exciting part is being eligible for prizes sponsored by different individuals on this chain. You will also be eligible for the Hive Power Up Month, which has another set of benefits.
The rules for HPUD are so simple, you just need to power up on the first day of the month (UTC) with at least, 10 HIVE. Then write a post about your power-up. And don't forget to add the tag #HPUD.
And if you want to join #HPUM (Hive Power Up Month), just power up on the first day,

Now, it's time to power up!
Since I failed to complete the task for HPUM (for the nth time, alarms are really useless, lol), I was able to save more HIVE this month, including those I bought using some of my HBD. So for this month, I was able to power up 100 HIVE. That's better than the previous month.
Concerning HPUM, I don't want to give up, so I'll do my best to finish it this month, (crossing fingers). I was fortunate enough to receive delegations for two months in a row. With or without prizes this month, I am still grateful for whatever I receive from this platform each day.
I consider it an achievement each time I see my account continuously growing, including my reputation, curation rewards, curation APR, and interests.
For October, here are what I've got:
- Curation APR: 10.01%
- Curation Rewards: 12.54HP
- HBD Interests: 4.42
These exclude the content rewards I got for the whole month. I felt happy seeing my curation rewards increased this time and crossed over 10 HP worth more or less $5. The HBD interest keeps increasing as well, as I keep adding some HBD to my savings. This is saved for later use. But sometimes I am tempted to withdraw them to use in trading instead, especially since the HIVE price is still below $0.50. What do you think is best to do with HBD?
Moving on...
Joining the Saturday Saver's Club makes me motivated more to pursue my goals and save more Hive and Hive tokens. Thanks, @shanibeer for the motivation. This isn't just for the sake of completion, but setting goals help us in so many ways. And it's just so good to be in a place with motivating people. It makes me feel optimistic about pursuing my goals, in and out of this chain.
And for the first time, I got this badge from Hivebuzz. This is another achievement added to my Hive chest.
I don't want to end the day without carrying out my monthly routine. That is to delegate some HP to another account. I most likely chose those small accounts that aren't making much money on this chain. In this way, I hope to encourage the user to continue writing without focusing on the rewards. So this month, I choose @garrethgrey 😊. Enjoy your power up day!
And hey! The Halloween party just started! Do you want to win a Halloween badge? Of course, not from me, but from @hivebuzz. Share your scariest Halloween story and get a chance to win the Halloween badge.
That's all. Happy Hive Power Up Day!
