Is it just me who feels like January came too fast and ended too fast? Or do you feel the same way too? And for sure, February would pass too fast as well since it has lesser days.
After seeing red lanterns, red pockets, and decorations this Chinese New Year, we'll be seeing more red hearts this month. I hope it won't impact the market, but I can feel like it will, lol at the time of writing. Is the bear market taking over? That was quite a long rally of the bull recently, so this is probably just a correction. Not a good start to the Month of Love, isn't it?
Back on track...
It's the first day of the month. Of course, no one wants to miss the Hive Power Up Day!

However, I found out recently that those with reputations of 70 and above are not eligible anymore to join the HPUD. I am not sure about this, so maybe anyone from the OCD team who's reading this can confirm the matter. But it doesn't mean we can't power up, of course, we all can power up regardless of the reputation score. However, we're not eligible for the rewards anymore, but it's pretty fine.
The purpose of joining the HPUD isn't just about the rewards that participants could get, but to grow the account. Alongside is growing the curation rewards while strengthening the reputation and blockchain influence. And the latter reasons matter more.
This month marks my 9th HPUD participation. I've been stacking Hive recently for this purpose and using some in trading to be able to grow my Hive faster.
So today, I was able to stake 100 HP and I'm pretty happy about that, growing my staked HP to 3500. As mentioned in my Hive Goals 2023, my HP goal this year is to achieve 5K HP, or even more, so I need 1500 HP more to save to complete this goal. Although I can make it happen too soon if I would stake all my Hive at the moment, I would rather take it slowly, but consistently.
But speaking of consistency, I was inconsistent though, in my attempt to complete the January HPUM task, that's to power up each day for the whole month. My mind was set on that goal at the beginning of the month. However, I was overwhelmed by different situations happening in the real world and my mind was preoccupied with other things. In the end, I forgot to power up on the 2nd day and I only remembered about it on the 3rd day, lol. I guess I need to go back to set alarms for HPUM to be able to complete it this month, and the following months. (fingers crossed)
My other goal is to collect Power Up Helper Badges by powering up small accounts each month. It's my way of helping them at the same time. Last HPUD, I powered up Monika's account, but for some reason, it didn't reflect on my Hivebuzz stats. But it doesn't really matter. Whoever will be powered up today, welcome in advance, hehe.
Before I end this, here are some of my achievements this January:
- Reputation increased to 70, and I am happy about that.
- Consistent Account Growth
- Higher Curation Rewards
- A decent HP amount of Author Rewards received from my articles.
- With some interest from my HBD Savings.
There are many ways to earn more rewards. But the main ways are posting quality content and of course, engagement. Despite the busyness at work, I still manage to grow my account here and I am grateful and blissful for that.
