Just because is useful doesn't mean we need it

Many things can be said about everything that is happening in the world regarding the infinite and seemingly unstoppable rise of Artificial Intelligence, because we no longer only have it in our technological devices through applications and websites that allow us to do countless things, from creating images from a few words, to create complete articles on any topic that interests us, for whatever its use.

Only now its use has transcended and reached gigantic levels to occupy the place of people in companies, for example, what happened with Duolingo less than two weeks ago, where they fired 10% of their workers and now the work that people used to do, is done by an AI. It is scary and even outrageous that things like this happen because it is no longer just that machines replace people, but now they do it with programs that do not even need to occupy a physical space to replace someone.

It is in these situations where the fun, where the usefulness of AI becomes worrying and generates an unthinkable amount of questions that do not even need answers because we could dig a lot into all the moral and existential issues that would be put under questioning.

We already know that it is only the big companies who benefit from firing large numbers of human personnel to replace them with machines or programs, as is happening now, so, will they believe that what they are doing is helping humans to have more time to exist, or will they only do it to save money and continue to increase their wealth? Me gustaría decir que ambos, pero no, o sí, no lo sé, la disociación de la realidad se puede presentar en cualquier persona, y no sabemos en realidad cómo piensan esas personas.

We already know that there are racist people, who, for example, when on a customer service call from any company, if they presume that someone is not of their preferred nationality, say they want to talk to someone who speaks English well, so, I would not be surprised that now with the imminent threat of human replacement with AIs, two camps would emerge.

The first side would defend AIs and say they have a right to exist and occupy the same amount of places as humans, and the second side would be against AIs and refuse to promote or consume anything that an AI has been a part of. Which side would you be a part of? Just imagining this makes me laugh so hard.

Something that sometimes is not even taken into account or questioned, is the fact of dehumanization to which humans are subjected to perform such replacements, it is understood that a higher efficiency rate is expected with AIs, but that is something that is not at all verifiable, or that equals in quality to the efficiency rate of humans. There are too many factors, human qualities, that come into play when comparing whatever they compare when making replacements, that completely change the effectiveness of the work being done.

There is too much that can be written on this subject, and there are too many that need to be taken into account, which I am not going to accomplish at this time. It was after reading this article that I was provoked to write that, but they have absolutely nothing similar, I don't know what goes through my mind sometimes.
