With every passing day we seem to be drifting further into uncharted territory where free speech is only welcome if you agree to become a talking head and leave your personal beliefs at the door.

While it is completely understandable that a war will intensify information warfare globally, this current conflict between Russia and Ukraine seems to be spiraling out of control with no end in sight.

The Absence Of Common Sense

If I had to give 2022 a name I would name it Redacted. Every single piece of information that is served to us is heavily modified to try and convince us that our own reality is false and that we should let our governments protect us from misinformation and harm that one common enemy is trying to spread for personal gain.

This model works well in theory because if your government always has your best interests in mind it will indeed protect you from propaganda and malicious lies but what happens when both sides start lying out of habit and necessity?

Facebook allows war posts urging violence against Russian invaders

This happens... Facebook will let you screech whatever monstrous though you may have as long as it is aimed at "the invaders".

Not so long ago another social media website that advocates freedom of speech managed to ban a sitting US president preventing him to share his own opinions publicly on the internet. The brainwashed world watched it all unfold and even supported the decision.

Just yesterday I saw that same man talk about Russia, the US involvement in this whole catastrophe and what I expected to happen did happen in just 24 hours.

We can go on and on about the censorship issues the internet is facing today but we all know where it all leads. Eventually, the people that own the internet will completely privatize it and force their opinions on every single user either willingly or unwillingly.

This woke cancel culture that is latching on to public debates like a parasite is not going away and that is why I firmly believe the time of Hive is closer than ever. Other parasites have joined the race but once they start doing the exact same thing as their predecessor people will have no choice but to surrender to decentralization.

Rumble is trending on Twitter right now. People are yet again turning to a centralized platform to exercise their freedom of speech. My impression is that this won't last long and eventually they will have to discover Hive and 3speak. The only two platforms that neither Putin nor Biden can sanction or shut down.

Hive Solves Everything

And when I say everything I really mean everything. As long as governments and private corporations can decide what is information and what is misinformation we will have censorship in our society. No matter how uncorrupted they are a time will come when an agenda needs to be pushed into the mainstream and they will start swinging away with restrictions and silencing.

I guess we will need to wait for the woke to actually wake up but when they do Hive will be ready and waiting. Communities will have all the freedom in the world to use the tools that are built here however they want.

They can create their own Twitter and their own Rumble if they want to. It only takes one frontend to have all that and if they want to censor stuff over there they can do so but what is posted on Hive stays on Hive. If a frontend says that you can't say something Hive will never have that ability so your voice will always be heard on the base layer, no matter how hard they try to silence it.

The sooner the silenced voices realize this the sooner they will be joining Hive and 3Speak.

Seizing The Moment

By the looks of it information warfare will continue even if the war in Ukraine comes to an end. There is so much information that needs to be hidden from the eyes of the public on both sides so I'm expecting Russia and the Western block to keep fighting for "online domination". And the more they silence each other the more room for marketing we actually have.

Instead of seeing this situation as a disaster, I would look at it as an opportunity of a lifetime. Crypto and Hive in particular were built for a time like this. We all knew what was coming and we seem to be well prepared for these dark times.

I'll take this opportunity to issue a call to action.

Whenever you see posts regarding censorship take a few minutes of your time to direct those that got censored in the right direction. Right now Rumble is beating us to it but it is mostly due to the fact that the vast majority of internet users still expect Web 2.0 to solve these unsolvable problems.

Adoption takes time but if we make it a collective and personal mission to educate outsiders on the unstoppable nature of Hive and 3Speak they will have to open their minds eventually.
