Splinterlands is a complex game and it allows for various different cards and strategies. Each fight is different as there are various different rulesets applied and this can give specific cards an advantage depending on how you use them. In this post, I talk about a summoner called Possibilus and how it can be more powerful if you combine it with the right cards or abilities.
Featured Summoner: Possibilus the Wise
Possibilus the Wise is a water summoner card that costs 6 mana. This summoner gives +2 Health, trample, and reach. Currently, I have this card at level 2 and it's a very powerful summoner. If you can get the trample to land, you can deal a lot of damage to your opponent. In particular, I find that rust and swiftness are both useful abilities. The rust reduces the enemies's armor by 2 and that makes it easier for your melee monsters to kill off your opponent and swiftness increases the speed of the card so that they can attack earlier.
Rule set, Battle and Plan
The ruleset this time is Standard. This means that there are no bonus effects on the battle. There is 50 mana available and I am left with the choice of fire, water, earth, or dragon splinter.
Splinter | Mana Cost | Position | Reason |
---|---|---|---|
Possibilus the Wise | 6 | Summoner | +2 Health, Reach and Trample |
Diemonshark | 8 | 1st | Enrage |
Coastal Sentry | 10 | 2nd | Double Strike |
Noa the Just | 5 | 3rd | Rust |
Kulu Mastermind | 9 | 4th | Weapons Training and Opportunity |
River Hellondale | 7 | 5th | Inspire and Resurrect |
Clockwork Aide | 4 | 6th | Swiftness |
Total Mana: | 49 |
My plan is to use Diemonshark up front as my tank due to the armor and the enrage ability. Next I have Coastal Sentry with double strike and the reach ability from Possibilus allows it to attack from that position. Next, I have Noa because of the Rust ability and it can attack because of the Weapons Training ability from my opportunity monster Kulu Mastermind. I have River Hellondale for the inspire and resurrect followed by Clockwork Aide in the last spot to delay those sneak or opportunity monsters.
Round 1
At first glance of my opponent's lineup, I think I have the advantage because of the swiftness ability which increases my speed. This means that my melee monsters can attack first and I can take out quite a few monsters before my opponent can even have a chance to attack me.
Round 2
I didn't miss and I was able to take out two monsters on my opponent's side without losing any monsters. At this point, my opponent won't be able to do much to me at all due to the speed difference as I will definitely be able to take out one or two monsters this turn. So I don't think there is any chance for me to lose because I still haven't used the resurrect ability yet.
As I expected I won without taking any more damage. I did lose some armor but I was able to wipe out my opponent because inspire, rust and swiftness allowed me to wipe out my opponent first.
Conclusion
The battle this time around went exactly as I expected. I wasn;t expecting to fight another Possibilus the Wise using a Diemonshark tank and a Coastal Sentry in the second spot. However, the supportive abilities that I had allowed me to move first and wipe out my opponent's monsters first. This allowed me to run over my opponent and take out the rest of my opponent's monsters without losing a single card or health on any of my cards. The abilities that you have can easily help your line-up so choosing good abilities to complement your lineup is always a good idea.

What did you think of my match? Was there anything you would have done differently? I think it is quite interesting to see how different players use the same card.
