The problem with having money beyond your spending capacity is worrying about who inherits it when you're no longer there to continue spending. There are people who have built business empires, made enough money to last three generations, and are still generating massive compound revenues.
One thing about money is that people believe it will never be enough. There is money, and there is more.
People strive to make more money because they are afraid that it will run out if they continue to spend it. In the process, they build businesses that become so profitable that they forget they only have short lives.
Given how short life can be, many people strive for unimaginable wealth only to forget that life is short when they begin to age or develop frail health.
Making money is frequently seen as a flex for the wealthy.*
80% of wealthy people make money to stay competitive, rather than to meet their basic needs. It is strange because they started out making money to provide, only to start making money later to compete for status and rank.
Human needs become more complex and bogus as they gain access to more resources. Rich people face numerous challenges, which are frequently overlooked. Most wealthy people are insecure; they struggle to find suitable heirs to manage their money; they are constantly paranoid and find it difficult to trust; and the more money they have, the more likely these events are to occur.
Money & Next Of Kin
I once read a post about Jackie Chan wanting to give his wealth to charity rather than his son; it appears unfair on the surface, but the pain and effort that comes with making money is why people are always concerned about who receives their money when they die.
If you have not realized it yet, money is vanity; most of the time, the joy of making money comes from knowing that you are actually making it. Many people have reached the pinnacle of their earning potential and are no longer satisfied.
However, when people can afford their numerous bucket lists and fantasies and have reached the pinnacle of affordability, there is no joy in earning money.
Humans are versatile in their beliefs.
The lessons we learn shape us in various ways, and people can become dissatisfied with their money when they realize there is nothing else to buy besides endless frivolities.
However, just because people are tired of their money does not mean they want to give it away. People have sold their souls to make money, not by giving it to the devil, but by sacrificing a lot of time, sleep, and other things, and this never-ending list of sacrifices is why rich people find it difficult to give up their money.
When it comes to the issue of next of kin, it becomes extremely difficult, especially if the person giving away the money has a large sum of money. Unless you have a loving family, most people never love rich people for who they are; it is always the same.
A person who was raised in a loving family will have no problem giving their money to their extended family members, but most of the time, money strife arises when people believe their family has done nothing to deserve their money.
This is why most wealthy people come across as stingy.
I came across a random guy online who was speaking with his bank account officers and telling them not to give his money to his family or next of kin if he could not be found. This could be for content purposes, or he may have meant what he was saying, but in reality, many people behave this way.
Many people have different perspectives on money and family, which is due to the diversity of their experiences.
If I had any money, I would not mind sharing it with my spouse, child, and possibly anyone else, but I doubt I have any such money and do not have to worry about it. However, if I did not have a nuclear family and had some money to spare, I might be less interested in my extended family.
There are many people suffering from the condition I have, and they can receive this money; I have friends who have become like family to me, and they can receive it as well; I would not mind giving it to the church of God, but because I do not have any money, all of this is just talk.
The Vanity Of It All
So I believe that money strife is the most serious issue we face in life, and that it is the most serious problem a sick and dying wealthy person can have. There is a lot of vanity in life, and money is one of them. It can sometimes lead to people losing themselves when it comes to giving away their money.
If you are out there now, aspiring to be wealthy beyond measure, it is important to consider these things; life is truly shorter than you realize, and the objects behind the mirror are closer than they appear.
