Eventually, we're all tasked with choosing a profession, an ambition, a passion, a dream job, or even a career path that might fund our lives, and pay for the expenses and sustainability of leading the ordinary life. This is simply to say, almost everyone gets to a point where they want to reward their passion rather than being in a position where their hard work is being paid for.

This is because when we find a perfect synchronization between money and passion, we'd never have to work a day in our lives. Sadly a lot of people never get to achieve this, rather they're stuck in the "figuring out stage" for a long time while living the rest of the stages in their lives.

In this video, I talked about how people in the previous generation had this easy.

Because they only knew one thing: go to college, graduate, and get a job. I made a comparison between this present and previous generation and how it's sort of tougher and more sophisticated. But then I talked about the freedom that comes with this toughness.

I talked about why people can lead the life they want while fulfilling their dreams at the same time. I made emphasis on why people can achieve a lot in this generation especially when they get it right. In the end, I mentioned the internet as an external force that is likely going to be predominant in our Choices.

In the past there were choices too. One could choose from an almost unlimited variety of professions, although I must admit that some extra choices are available today :)

Yeah you're right but I guess it could differ from society to society. Where I come, it was quite easy to figure out what one wanted to be and do. Nowadays the economy, the cultural revolution, the perspective and dominance of influence makes it very difficult..

That's a good point, but the choice was always there if one was determined enough to change their destiny. An exception being those who were considered property, or were otherwise bound to a specific person or place.

Certificate killed the talented man and low self esteem buried the talented man. The college of a thing is a place to aid your analytics and not necessarily for job . When I was 6 I chose to be a teacher and I kept the passion and I'm seeing myself through college with little resources from the crypto world and part time thing. I do what I do not for anyone but for the dream and for my generation.
How I wish our youths could watch this video and get more sense and be encouraged.

Well, I think we don't encourage self development and we even if it helps us to find ourselves, many people are living the dreams of others because they think it's profitable to these people and it'll be profitable to them. My passion is teaching too, I just haven't gotten around how to finally establish my audience.

Yes, I agree with you. As a teacher I'm when I ask my students what they want to become you see them saying things very impressive but ask them why they want so they will tell you my cuz is doing it and has a lot of money meaning that it's not their life but a copied kind of life and till that removed and people starting living their own life little would be achieved.

Past generations didn't have it any easier, they just had fewer options.

right now the world has so many things to do that people are frozen between so many possibilities.

in the end it all comes down to knowing yourself, knowing what your tastes are and going for them

What do you want to do when you will grow up? Who do you want to be when you will grow up?
We should teach children to simply answer "I want to be happy and I want to realize myself. The work will be just a tool I will have to make this happen"

Well some parents wants their kids to be rich whether they're happy or not, so they just force them to live the life. Chasing money whatever way they can actually think of. It's insane.

Could not agree more! Thanks for such content!

You spoke well sir, it's easier knowing what you are going to be doing after education in the past but the line has changed now that if one should walk in that mentality, he or she is likely to get caught up with the regrettable life alot of people are into now..

Tbh, I fall under the category of people that just want to get the certificate and fudge ahead with my plans hoping for the best from God but depending on my result to make a living hereafter is the last thing on my mind.. Certificates can serve as an additional advantage but shouldn't be a priority for a better living specially in a time like this..
A lot of youths out there have given up on education and the ancient world system is looking at them as failures already, I use to do the same before too but I've realize it now, a good life is not as a result of obtaining certificates now instead hand work and skills are the most likely possible routes to having a life better life now specially in a country like ours.
We can clearly see the results of those that have obtained the certificates, millions of graduate are still coming, we have millions on ground and yet there is no job to do. Honestly to me depending solely on certificates to earn a living is the most foolish decision in a time like this😀😀...

I think the industry is filled with graduates that do not have goals at all. We cannot depend on the Nigerian system to provide them with jobs, especially the more the population gets bigger. However I admit it's hard to properly establish something, but because it's hard doesn't mean we cannot or shouldn't try. I think we're all try-ers in life and we should strive to even be more.
The internet is a great place to build something especially when we get to understand that real-time is not the only place to build a business or a career.
Hopefully, we can all get to find our path.

Some are catching on YouTube watching their favourite motivational speaker telling them they can fly to the moon and become astronauts

This part got me rolling🤣🤣🤣🤣, so many of these motivational speakers are funny. There are lots of things on the internet, so we must filter what we want.

Figuring things out is not easy, especially in the world we are presently in. I have never attached much importance to getting a college degree, it is good, but doesn't mean it will make you successful. When I see someone of this generation thinking like our parents I get angry. Their mentality worked for them then but now things are changing and the world is diverse. Education is no longer the key, just another form of exposure. While figuring out things is not easy some people never try their best to do that. Imagine, I have a cousin that just finished university, she's yet to do her convocation but she feels like some jobs are beneath her, she's comfortable staying at home. I pity her, she does know the world has different shades of colour and is not black and white. I can't phantom why someone will be in their last year in college and have no plans at all. This is so bad.

I do wish our parents will realise that we have better opportunities now, and a 9-5 job does not guarantee success but may help a person live ok, if that is even possible. Success is not attached to a particular profession.

You actually watched the video to see that part, sorry I had to laugh a lot, I found it funny just like you found it funny. As for your cousin. The Igbos used to say, a blind man doesn't need to be told that war just broke loose. I think she might marry a person that's rich and might not experience the grey areas of life. But if she doesn't, it's better she begin to seek.

As for degrees and college and all, they're crucial, just that one needs to become something else that's not defined by these titles. Life is bigger and more sophisticated, so we're left with figuring out what we should become, else we might be left out.
