Although I have never ordered anything online or participated in Black Friday sales before, something interesting happened yesterday that caught my attention. One of my friends called me and mentioned a brand called "Fashion Nova." He told me they would be participating in this so-called Black Friday, and he sounded pretty excited about it. Curious, we decided to check out their website, and to our amazement, they announced discounts ranging from 50% to 90%. Honestly, I was blown away by the price reduction and immediately told him I’d consider shopping for a few things myself.
However, Along the line, my friend discovered that Fashion Nova does not have a store or distribution outlet in Nigeria. This was a major disappointment for both of us, as it meant we couldn’t place an order and have the items delivered locally. With that realization, he stopped looking at their website, and we decided to explore other options. Nevertheless, this got me thinking. I resolved to keep an eye out for other brands, designers, or boutiques participating in Black Friday sales. I am optimistic that I might find some good deals that would make the shopping experience worthwhile.
Now, let me share the items I hope to purchase if I find a great Black Friday sale. First on my list is shirts. I don’t currently own many, and I feel like this would be the perfect opportunity to expand my wardrobe. Since the prices would likely be significantly discounted, I could potentially get myself two nice shirts for the price of one. I am particularly looking for casual shirts that I can wear daily, but I wouldn’t mind grabbing something more formal if I find the right style.

Next on my shopping list are joggers and jeans. At the moment, I only own one pair of jeans, and I hardly have any joggers. I’ve always wanted to add more variety to my collection of casual wear, so this seems like a great time to shop for both items. I think joggers are a perfect mix of comfort and style, and they would be great for relaxing at home or stepping out for errands. Jeans, on the other hand, are versatile and can pair with almost anything, so having at least two more pairs would really upgrade my wardrobe. Moreover, Christmas is around the corner so I can just get a shirt and jeans that will be suitable to wear out with friends.
Another item I am determined to buy is earpods. This is probably one of the most important things on my list. Currently, I don’t own any, which means I end up listening to music or watching videos by playing the sound directly from my phone’s speaker. This isn’t ideal, especially when I’m in public spaces or need to avoid disturbing others. Having a pair of earpods would make a world of difference, allowing me to enjoy my music and other audio content in peace.
Finally, I’m looking forward to buying a nice pair of palm slippers. At the moment, I rely on my Crocs slippers even when I wear traditional or native attire, and I must admit, it always feels a bit awkward. Native wears deserve a proper palm slipper to complement their style, so I’m excited to find something that fits perfectly and enhances my overall look. With the Black Friday discounts, I’m confident I’ll find a good deal on a high-quality pair.
I genuinely believe that Black Friday offers are worth it, especially when you consider the massive price reductions. For instance, an item you would normally buy for $30 could be sold for $18 or less, which is a significant saving. This makes it possible to buy more items for the same budget, which is a win-win situation. Additionally, the discounts often lead to increased demand, as more people are eager to take advantage of the offers. For someone like me, who has several essential items on their list, this is the perfect opportunity to shop wisely and get good value for my money.
At the end of the day, even though I couldn’t shop from Fashion Nova, I’m still optimistic about finding great deals from other stores or brands this Black Friday. With shirts, joggers, jeans, earpods, and palm slippers on my wishlist, I’m ready to make the most of the discounts. I can’t wait to see how much I can save while upgrading my wardrobe and getting some much needed items.
