When you are new to the crypto space and start to pick up on the terminologies used by the OGs, "WAGMI" is usually the one that gets printed on our brain, mind, and heart.
The reason for that is fairly obvious.
We all want to grab onto any chance of that being our reality.
If you are reading this and still know nothing about the meaning of WAGMI, don't worry. Just relax. I will tell you what it's all about.
Before that, how is your Web3 grind going?
A lot of people are really grinding hard in this space, and I'm always impressed to see that because being successful doesn't happen by chance. It takes a great deal of effort for people to excel and become successful. That's how it is in real life and I can't understand why some people expect something different just because they are in Web3.
Here's a tweet I put up this morning;
You are either serious about your Web3 grind or you are wasting your time.
🔹The choice is yours to make.
🔹The consequence of whatever you choose is also yours to face.
Know that and act accordingly.
A lot is in your control... A lot more than you can imagine.
I also shared that on my LinkedIn account which I'm specifically branding for Web3 partnership and rodeo.
You got the message in that, right?
A lot of people are in Web3 yet they know nothing about Web3. A good example is usually those that got in through Airdrop. I obviously have nothing against those sets of people. However, when someone is into airdrop without making any attempt to learn about the fundamentals of Web3, Blockchain, and Cryptocurrency, the person does a great disservice to him/herself.
Airdrop hunting is just a fraction of what happens in this space. The same can be said for all other parts of Web3. So, if all you know about Web3 is focused on just one area, I want you to know that there's a lot more about this than what you already.
Think about that for a minute.
Now, back to WAGMI;
🔹 W = We're
🔹 A = All
🔹 G = Gonna
🔹 M = Make
🔹 I = It.
We're All Gonna Make It!
Bruhhh... This is not even funny.
Who told you that we are all going to make it just because we are in Web3? That fallacy is hilarious, but choose to believe that if you want.
Anyone who truly wants to make it needs to go beyond chanting "WAGMI." That's not even a close enough strategy to adopt. Instead, do the following;
1. Try to study as much as possible about Web3 to have a good understanding of what really happens here. You can't succeed in something you don't understand except if you want to dive in here while taking a ton of uncalculated risks.
What do you know about Defi? What do you know about being a Degen? Do you know about the aspects of Web3 you could leverage to boost your liquidity? You can only gain knowledge about these by studying. So, be humble and study.
2. When you are studying and gaining theoretical knowledge about Web3, it's also important to implement the things you are learning. This is how you will become sure of what you are capable of doing and this is especially necessary when interacting with several chains.
From what I know, doing testnets is a good way to implement the theoretical things you are studying about Defi. You are free to make mistakes in testnets. So, go ahead and try that out. This will surely boost your confidence.
3. With all you already know, you still won't make it in Web3 if you fail to position for opportunities.
When you hear that a testnet is launched, do you take up that opportunity?
When an airdrop announcement is made, do you position yourself for that?
Do you brand your social media profiles well enough to attract projects that would want to work with you?
Web3 is a wild world and it would be interesting to see y'all make it. However, we need to do our fair share to stand a chance of making it.
