For the past few days since Elon Musk acquired twitter, there has been a lot of controversies going around, and the recent one was the announcement that verified account on twitter would have to pay a 20$ monthly fee to be remained verified.
This announcement brought a lot of complaints and backlash which made Elon “apparently” reduce the price to 8$ monthly instead; considerate right?
Well, I find this incredibly crazy because I don’t think I would ever want to pay that amount for a blue tick especially when hive exists.
Twitter to me isn't something that I can't live without and even though some people are saying we pay for movie subscriptions, I don't think it's the same thing.
Now obviously, there are advantages of owning a Twitter account but in comparison to a hive account, I will be choosing hive all the way.
Why Hive Over Twitter?
Well, simple , hive first of all is free and I have the chance to grow easier than I would on twitter.
Secondly, I can start earning from day one without having a following which can't be said for twitter; I personally don't even know how people earn there, probably mainly by advertising.
Thirdly, the hive reputation which I would compare to the “blue check mark” on Twitter is completely free.
Personally, because of these reasons, I feel like hive offers a whole lot more than most social media, but it is very underrated which is incredibly saddening.
I do hope that with this happening on Twitter, more people would be drawn to joining hive and would get to experience the whole world of earning while being in charge of your account.
Finally,
Thinking about it right now, I just realized that comparing Twitter to hive isn't even fair for Twitter because it can't even keep up in terms of value, quality content and so on.
