I’ve been wanting to become a graphic designer since I was 25, and it’s been 5 years that I put off learning it. Recently, I found an excellent YouTube channel for learning Illustrator. Fortunately, there are so many sources for the skill I want to learn. Anyway, after searching YouTube, I found a couple of channels teaching illustrator. I picked one and started learning.

My purpose for learning Illustrator was to create NFTs. I completed the lessons in a short amount of time. And I started practicing making my NFT collection. I think I did a good job for someone who doesn’t know much about graphic design.

Even though, I only sold one NFT, I am proud I could make art with illustrator and that I continued the lessons. And now I have added illustrator to the skills that I know in my resume. I am not advanced and need to learn more about graphic design, but I am happy that I pursued learning Illustrator after so much wasting time.

What I want to say is that it is important to start early, that way you will gain more experience through the years working on that skill. But the saying “It is never too late to start what you are passionate about” is also true.

Now, I am able to take small little freelancer jobs working with illustrator.

I think the most skills I add to my resume, it won't ever be enough. There is always something new to learn. So, I think always learning is the best attitude to have in this day and age.

I think photoshop is similar to illustrator, but you have more tools to play with. I think creating art is like a game. You use the tools to make something that didn't exist before. If you use your imagination, you can create simple but complex designs. There are many applications that can be used to create designs. You can sell those designs in NFT marketplaces and make money. It just needs a little time and a little creativity. In my experience, I think the idea matters. And one should spend time brainstorming and writing down ideas and pick the best one.

I think to become a graphic designer takes a lot of work because learning these applications takes time, and it is one thing to learn and another thing to actually implement what you learned.

Right now, I am working on a new NFT collection. I want to put it up for sale in one of the marketplaces for selling NFT. I think I might use Foundation or OpenSea. Furthermore, I have plans to create more NFTs and I want to put up some of my creations here on Hive. And hopefully I can sell more NFTs. I think by expanding your creations in different marketplaces, you can gain more audience and more collectors.

I think NFTs has a lot of potential and if you have a little luck and a little talent, you can make a lot of money with it. Start by learning illustrator. There are many free sources you can use. And Illustrator is much easier to learn than photoshop.

I have Photoshop on my system, but I don't use it. Because it crashes most of the time. I think there is something wrong here, I think my system is not capable. Maybe in the future, I bought a better laptop to use these graphic design applications. But Illustrator works fine for me for now.

In conclusion, learning a new skill can bring you new avenues of money, and you can apply for more jobs, and one of the best skills you can learn is graphic design. I mean, surely Artificial intelligence can create realistic pictures, but nothing ever beats human made designs.

Yes, I like designing. It gives a good feeling. I made money with it but since I'm new, I need more experience to make big money with it.
