Closing Prices for Some Cryptos, 2022 February 3

Yesterday was Groundhog Day in some places, and it was bad for the 6 cryptos covered here. It was crickets yesterday for BTC, ETH, LTC, HBD, HIVE, and CUB. Can they rebound for this closing? We shall see! Also, the series is winding down coverage of its first featured Hive Project, hive.ausbit.dev, continues for 2 more posts after this one. This post will show the closing prices for some cryptos as of 2022 February 3.

Closing Prices for Some Cryptos, 2022 February 3

This is the reason for this post!

Closing Prices come from their respective Historical Data pages at CoinGecko.com.

[*] = Now that streaks are getting longer
to display-- especially a series of
short streaks, I decided to use
the following shorthand:

w = 1 Win w
W = 5w = wwwww
! = 2W = WW = wwwwwwwwww
--> (Wins are EXCELLENT!!)

l = 1 Loss
L = 5l = lllll
? = 2L = LL = llllllllll
--> (Loss? Why, crypto, WHY??)

u = 1 UNCHANGED
U = 5u = uuuuu
- = 2U = UU = uuuuuuuuuu

a = L1W1L1W1 -- alternating streak starting with L
A = W1L1W1L1 -- alternating streak starting with W

Winners (Closed Higher)

  • BTC wlwwwlwwlw -- Bitcoin shrugged off the Groundhog Day Hangover by closing with a w to start a new winning streak.
  • LTC llwwwlwwlw -- Litecoin dusted off its Groundhog Day cobwebs with a winning close.
  • HBD wlwwlwwllw -- HBD continues to match BTC in overall W-L record by closing with a w the day after Groundhog Day.
  • HIVE Wlwllw -- came back with a bang the Groundhog Day shutout not only with a w but a close over the 1.000 milestone for the first time since 20 January 2022.
  • CUB wlwuwllwlw -- CUB came back strong with a W to push beyond the 0.240 level. After reaching an ATH of USD 3.96 on 16 April 2021, CUB is on sale at 93.8% off; that's a fire sale!!

Losers (Closed Lower)

  • ETH wwlWll -- ETH is the only crypto of the 6 to lose today, and is now on a 2-l streak.

Why Those Cryptos?

Bitcoin and Ethereum

There would be no cryptocurrency as we know it without Bitcoin. Smart contracts in general and Decentralized Finance specifically would not exist without Ethereum. Currently their combined market dominance at 57.2%.

HIVE and Hive-Based Dollar

Hive is a project-oriented ecosystem, so development is vital for its growth-- not just the increase in the HIVE price but also for the increase in value. This is why holders of HIVE are encouraged to stake HIVE in order to obtain Hive Power to be able to have a say in community development. Hive Power (HP) is also how we earn by engaging with other community members via the blogging or gaming platforms.

Part of the value of Hive comes in the form of its companion stablecoin, Hive-based Dollar (HBD).

Cub Finance

In April 2021, CUB reached its ATH of USD 3.94. These days, it's bumming around USD 0.230 to USD 0.250. So CUB today is around 6% the value it had at its ATH less than a year ago. Many holders of CUB are HODLers, so they know that better days will come for CUB. If you don't have any CUB, now is the time to fill that bag!

Litecoin

At the moment, LTC is hovering near USD 100.000. If you bring outside money into Hive Engine to buy HIVE+, LTC is a good cryptocurrency to import for conversion to SWAP.LTC before it can be sold for SWAP.HIVE which can be used to by Layer 2 tokens. Although there is a fee for using the Litecoin network, it's a fraction of what we would pay for any transaction on the Ethereum network. For this reason alone it's worth buying LTC and even socking away for your own bag.

"I Need A Little Help"
Not including BTC and ETH, not every crypto is covered by any news source every day. For example, one source may have LTC news on Monday and Wednesday, another would have it on Tuesday and Friday. I'm looking for FUD-free news sources for BTC, ETH, LTC, HBD, HIVE, and CUB. I may actually have an easier time finding sources for the first 3 than for the last 3.

Ideally the news would be intraday in order to explain why a crypto went up or down during a 24-hour period; not technical analysys, but somews which came out to cause the rise or fall in prices. If anyone can recommend news sources which are good specifically for these cryptos, please let me know in the comments.

Something To Read Besides a Table

I'm looking for news sources I can use for the 6 cryptos covered here. Except for BTC, and probably ETH, no news source covers a crypto daily.

Part of this search is for external news sources which cover HIVE, HBD, and CUB. Besides news coverage, they also double as validation of Hive-based content concerning HIVE, HBD, and CUB. Promote the Hive domains first, then provide outside domains, then let the readers decide for themselves.

So I'm looking for enough news sources to fill each day of the week. It will be a while before I find these news sources, and it may be longer since I seek FUD-free news sources (so no Bloomberg, no CNBC, etc.). I'll figure it out eventually, but I would be grateful for any suggestions made in the comments.

Hive has 156 dApps in various stages of development for the Hive platform. I thought it would be a good idea to stay in-house and promote our own offerings. Since this series is devoted to closing prices for some cryptos (with Litecoin replacing EOS), the natural first dApp to cover is hive.ausbit.dev by "@"ausbitbank.

Today's Bit about hive.ausbit.dev

The last post covered the set of off-chain communications tools Hiver can use. Today's post notes the 2 menu items for blog post viewing:

Since all of us have some level of familiarity with these 2 general front-ends for Hive Social (plus Ecency), there's no need for screen captures or composite screen captures. As with everything else, selecting either of these menu items opens the dApp in a separate tab or window. From there, you know what to do.

The next post takes a look at the set of menu items for trading HIVE at these exchanges: Binance, Bittrex, Mandala, and Ionomy.

Just My Two Sats

5 out of the 6 cryptos covered in this series bounced back from the Groundhog Day Hangover. ETH was the lone loser, but it's overal W-L record is good. Even CUB returned to the levels which had become home during January 2022.

The quest for news links continues. In the case of HIVE, HBD, and CUB, news from outside sources will validate whatever content Hivers publish on the chain regarding these three cryptocurrencies.

The next post will consolidate menu items for hive.ausbit.dev for trading HIVE at Binance, Bittrex, Mandala, and Ionomy. After that, it's two final menu items in their own dedicated posts. I still considering which Hive Project will be the second I cover after the series for hive.ausbit.dev concludes.
