Hello splinterlands warriors!
I hope you are having a wonderful day and also eagerly waiting for the weekend while battling your way up in the rankings in splinterlands as only 3 days left for this current season to end.
First, let us peek at the current crypto market scenario and as I see, the main dominator BTC has faced a little correction after reaching $45,000 and currently being traded for 42,692$ while the other giant ETH is currently being sold for 2,984$ after being corrected from it’s recent high 3,250$.
The splinterlands token market however has experienced an uptrend as the in-game token DEC is currently trading at 0.00328$ while the SPS is being traded for 0.141$. The price of Vouchers also increased well and now it is being sold for 2.2$.
There are 2 big things that I am currently waiting for - one is the SPS node validator update and the other is how the upcoming ranked play separation (Wild/Modern rank system) comes into play. With so many cards as options, players like me who don't own all the summoners or cards are facing big trouble into ranked, leaderboard and in tournaments as well and earnings has been reduced down a lot. Earnings from the rental feature has also been decreased a lot since it’s lunch. It would be great if they add chaos only (+ new reward cards) tournaments to hand out more earning opportunities to newly joined players who are probably missing a lot of old cards.
Now, let me shut my whining lips and move towards my main theme as in today’s post, I will be Talking about DIEMONSHARK!
DIEMONSHARK
DIEMONSHARK! The name itself is the proof of how demonic a monster can be. To be honest, this new chaos monster has secured it’s crown pretty quickly as the frontier / front defence in water lineups. You can call him the Celestial of Sharks because of his gigantic size. His while body is covered with Thick Armoured Scales while his strong fins and tail gives him enough power to become speedy enough to dodge attacks from enemies. Don’t ever try to hurt him as he transforms into demon if being enraged.
DIEMONSHARK is a rare edition Chaos card that belongs to the Water unit. It costs 8 mana to use him in battles and his attack is melee. Let us now take a look at its stats and abilities in detail below.
STATS
Bronze
At level 2, he possesses 2 melee attack at 4 speed with 6 armour and 8 health. It also gets the trample ability since it’s initial level and this particular ability is making it a champion among water units. Monsters with trample ability if kills down an enemy, it will lunch another attack to the enemy card next in line.
Silver
At level 4, it gets 3 melee attack at 4 speed with 6 armour and 8 health and also gets the Enrage ability. Because of the Enraged ability, it will now get increased attack and speed stat whenever its health gets damaged.
Gold
At level 6, it possesses 3 melee attack at 4 speed with 6 armour and 19 health along with Enrage and Trample ability. The increased health + armour combo will protect it from enemy attacks for a long time hopefully, unless the opponent goes with all magic lineup.
Diamond/Champ
At level 8, this card gets 4 melee attack at 4 speed with 6 armour and 10 health and also gets Retaliate ability from level 7. The retaliate ability will give it 50% chance to attack back whenever a melee monster attack it.
Important Points
- It is a deadly choice against melee attackers as whenever it successfully retaliates and kills down an enemy, it will go for another attack to the monster next in line because of it’s trample ability.
- When using the Diemonshark in medium or high mana limit matches, you have to keep in mind about enemy magic attacks. Adding one or 2 silence ability monsters will help you in that case while the Shark will take care of the melee and range attacks with its high Shield + Health combo.
- The main thing about this monster is to use it in a way that you can activate its trample ability it that match. In certain low or medium mana matches, where you are quite sure that the opponent will use monsters with low health, you can try using this monster against them.
- As it is a melee attack type card, reducing armours upon enemies would help you a lot. So try using this monster in Broken armour ruleset or try to reduce enemy armours with Rust ability monsters.
MARKET STAT
Diemonshark is currently being sold in splinterlands market for 0.45$ per BCX and will cost you about 135.290 DEC. However, there is a max level available at cheap rate, 48$ for max which will cost you 14,463.059 DEC.
Battle Line-up

mana Cap:
30
Splinters allowed:
Fire, Water, Earth, Life and Death.
Ruleset:
Equal Opportunity
- All monsters will have the opportunity ability.Up Close and Personal
- Only monsters with melee attack will be used in this match.
DIEMONSHARK
I chose Diemonshark at my first place in lineup. Because of the Opportunity ruleset, Diemonshark will receive less attacks here and also holds the retaliate ability which may become handy in this ‘Up Close and Personal’ ruleset match. I am using a level 8 here and it holds 4 melee attack at 4 speed with 6 armour and 10 health.’ Along with 3 abilities - Trample, Enrage and Retaliate.
ELECTRIC EELS
I chose the Electric Eel at the reach position mainly because of its high speed attack with blast ability which will clears the shields (if any) from enemy monsters. Opportunity ruleset matches need good speed, because faster monsters will attack first and will go to the enemy monster with lowest health, thus multiple killing is possible if enemies are shield less and of low health. I am playing with a level 8 here and it has 3 melee attack at 6 speed with 7 health along with Reach and Blast ability.
DEEPLURKER
I chose Deeplurker at my third position of my lineup and I mainly chose it because of it’s high melee attack with Opportunity, Demoralize and poison ability. As the match ruleset is opportunity as well, the first ability gets no benefit but the demoralize ability will help me a lot by reducing melee attacks of all enemy monster’s by 1, in a match containing only melee monsters. I am using a level 10 deeplurker here and and it possesses 5 melee attack at 4 speed with 7 health.
PELACOR BANDIT
I used the Pelacor Bandit at the 4th place of my lineup and I chose it because if its high speed with flying and sneak ability. I will 2 sneak monsters here and as usual they will avoid the opportunity match ruleset and attack on the last card of enemy’s lineup, being a sneak card. I am using a level 10 hare and it has 4 melee attack at 6 speed and 5 health along with the Flying and Sneak ability.
ELVEN CUTTHROAT
I chose another sneak monster Elven Cutthroat at the 5th place pf my lineup to help the bandit. I like this monster because of its high speed even at level 8 which I own it at. It possesses 3 melee attack at 5 speed with 4 health at level 8.
COCATRICE
As this match will only contain melee monsters because of the Up Close and Personal ruleset, I used the Cocatrice at the last place my lineup. I have a level 7 and it has 1 melee attacks at 6 speed and 4 health Along with Flying and Evade ability. Thanks to it’s high speed and flying + evade combo, it can dodge many enemy melee attacks and score you a easy win. But, because of the Opportunity ruleset, make sure it stays as the lowest health monster in your lineup and gets attacked first.
Match Result
After submitting my team as the battle got revealed I saw that my opponent @jasper23 has used fire summoner Tarsa against me. At front, he used the Serpentine Soldier followed by Fineas Rage at reach position. In middle, he put 2 sneak monsters Kobold Miner and Tenyii Striker and one opportunity monster Serpentine Spy. He defended his rear position with Cerberus.
At round 1, My electric eel attacked first and targeted upon the enemy serpentine spy, who had the lowest health in opponent’s lineup with a blast attack damaging its adjacent monsters as well. The cocatrice attacked afterwards and killed down the spy. The sneak duo bandit and elven attacked next and damaged the cerberus but both got retaliate damage in return and my elven died. The Diemonshark attacked next and broke the Soldier’s shield and also got throned in return. The cerberus healed back itself and attacked the coca but missed it target as I thought. Next, my deeplurker attacked and killed down the enemy Kobold. The Tenyii striker attacked last but missed its attack on my coca. That's 2 misses from the opponent thanks to my coca!
At second round, the electric eel again attacked first and brought the cerberus’s health to 2 and also damaging the adjacent card tenyii with blast. The coca attacked next and cerberus’s health down to 1 while getting a return attack throu retaliate and lost it’s shield. My bandit attacked next and killed down the cerberus finally but got the retaliate damage as well. Omg this cerberus is so lucky with his retaliate! The enemy Fineas attacked next and killed down my damaged bandit. The Serpentine Soldier attacked next and broke the Diemonshark’s shield, the shark retaliates but missed its attack back on serp in spite of having 5 speed. Then the shark does it’s own attack and damaged the soldier but also got damaged because of the thorns. Thus, the shark gets his Enrage ability unlocked, giving it 6 melee attack and 8 speed! Next my deeplurker attacked and killed down the tenyii striker.
At round 3, my Diemonshark attacked first but this time as well, he missed its attack on the soldier. That's because of the evade ability because my shark speed was 8 and the soldier was only carrying 6 speed. Anyways, the eel attacked next and damaged both the soldier and the fineas, while losing its armour to the thorn. The coca also died in action against the fineas. The soldier attacked next but this time my shark did the retaliate perfectly and with ine blow, he killed down the poor soldier. Now, As it has killed the soldier, its Trample ability got unlocked and it again attacked the next monster, which is fineas in this case. The shark snatched 6 health from the Fineas and next the blow was carried out by my Deeplurker who attacked next and reduced the last 4 health of that fineas into 0. And this… I won this match!
I hoped you liked reading my post. Let me know about your feeling regarding this awesome chaos monsters. Does it suits your style? Have you tasted it's trample + Retaliate combo? Please let me know in the comments below and I will be seeing you in my next post.
