Emerging Projects of 2022: 3Speak the Censorship Resistant Protocol

The United Kingdom surging to the front with a reported $US170 Billion worth of transactions with the brunt of transactions across Central Northern Western Europe reaching $US1 Trillion dollars predominantly in the decentralised finance (De-Fi) sector source This trend is expected to grow as more nations ease regulations and begin approving digital assets and investing in their economic and technological advancements.
3Speak
A project that I have been following that appears to be advancing within the emerging tech industry is 3Speak which is currently built on the Hive blockchain and provides bloggers the ability to create video content and Vlogs.
In a similar fashion to the upvote system of Hive and Leo Finance content creators are able to create specific content and share them not only on their own blogs but in relevant community groups. Unlike YouTube or other streaming sites which force users to go through lengthy application processes in order to qualify for payment through ads. Users of 3Speak are able to commence earning an income from the moment they sign up through upvotes.
The site appears to be just like any other streaming service however, built on a blockchain it's data is saved forever. The project team also touts that as a block chain community it is censorship resistant in line with Hive Blog source. However, it is important to note that the block chains are censorship resistant to a certain extent. It is possible to downvote abusers and nefarious content which can completely silence a user and prevent their content being shown publicly.
As a participant of Hive Blog myself I participate in the removal of illegal material by joining a downvote trail which consists of a large number of users who seek out nefarious activity.
What is Censorship resistance?
Censorship resistance is a good topic to discuss as I have raised this with a number of people and I am often met with What about trolls? What about illegal content? What about bullying and harassment? these questions are quite valid if you have spent your time on current modern day social media. But one thing I will say on Hive, 3Speak, Leo Finance and other block chain blogging sites is that these instances are close to null and void.
the majority of people whom have accounts of Hive do so to earn an income through content creation and any behaviours that go against what a respectful society would expect impacts that users income. Incentivised blogging which also includes engagement such as comments in my opinion has brought out a better standard of social cohesion. The wrong behaviours on the block chain can and usually do have you removed from earning and once that happens, people tend to leave. This is a topic I want to focus on in another blog article so we will provide a further in-depth discussion on it at a later time.
Specifically talking to Censorship resistance what the block chain is focusing on is on governments that prevent their citizens accessing the internet to get their messages out to the broader world. The ability to have free speech and not be arrested by a dictatorship government and have your account closed. When you can escape your own western privilege like my own and begin to understand how other people are living on the same rock as us which you will get to see and learn on Hive, you come to realise that censorship resistance and free speech means something completely different than some extremist left or right or up or down troll posting useless garbage on a Facebook thread.
There are still extremes on the block chain but these people also live amongst us, the best part is that there is no algorithm that throws it in my face like on mainstream platforms Winning!.
Why is 2022 an important year for 3Speak?
I'm featuring 3Speak in my emerging projects of 2022 because the team behind it is now advancing the project to not only be a video content creation project built on Hive. They're expanding to also be a stand alone protocol with their own token and governance token. Currently the payouts are paid in Hive which will I believe continue but there is also a number of additional tokens that will be assigned to the project such as:
Speak Tokens:
Is the Governance token that will provide users with the ability to influence governance and vote on proposals. It is a weight based voting mechanism so the more a user has the stronger their position on the network. The token is also deflationary and has reflective attributes that charge a tax for selling and unstaking which is then reflected back to holders. The token is also deflationary.
Larynx Miners:
The token is as it states a mining token which will provide Speak token as payment but is also utilised to secure and provide infrastructure for the network.
Broca Gas Token:
To limit spam Broca has been created and will be required to pay for uploading of content and similarly to Hive Resource credits will regenerate daily and the more speak you have staked the more Broca you have.

Token Airdrop
Oh yes, there is a token airdrop coming but there are some pretty strict requirements around it. To be eligible for the airdrop you MUST have a Hive account with a minimum of 8 have noting that the the project whitepaper states that you do not have to have the Hive powered up to be eligible.
There will be two airdrops one that will commence several weeks prior to the main airdrop which will be provided to the first 888 account that claim within the 3.3 day period.
After that, a snapshot will be taken of every users Hive and Hive Power which users will receive a 90 day countdown prior to the snapshot. The airdrop will be provided as a monthly payment however, eligible participants will be required to login to the Speak desktop app to claim.
The 2022 Contender
I am interested in the development of the project and its advancement in the content creator sector with further announcements that users will also be able to mint NFTs and a range of other useful products and services all aligned to content creation.
