With the recent unrest in Russia caused by the invasion of the country by Russia, a lot of individuals and organizations have rallied around Ukraine providing them with essential equipment and items needed to live through and survive this invasion.
The crypto community has also shown support to Ukraine with over $13 million already donated in crypto.
This came after the Ukrainian government posted its bitcoin, Ether, and Tether wallet addresses to the public.
The donations received are expected to help the military in its effort to repel the attacks by the Russians.
A lot of Ukrainian residents are fleeing their home country to neighboring countries in search of safety.
The crypto community is showing support to the people of Ukraine and its government in this time of total unrest.
After these addresses were posted, a lot of crypto owners perceived it to be some form of scam. However, the vice prime minister of Ukraine confirmed that the wallets were genuine and urged that the world supports the country.
The Ethereum founder also confirmed that the addresses posted by the Ukrainian government are legit and authentic.
DAOs used for crowdfunding
A couple of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) have also been created to help support the people of Ukraine affected by the Russian invasion.
A Russian rock band known as Pussy Riot has created UkraineDAO to help raise funds for the Ukrainian civil organizations to help those affected by the invasion.
The UkraineDAO will also sell Ukraine flags NFTs to provide aid to the Ukrainians affected by the invasion.
The crypto community has helped in different ways to provide support to the Ukrainian military and the residents of Ukraine who go affected by this unfortunate event.
