Illusion of freedom of speech on Hive and Leo finance
Hive is a good Web3 platform and I have been using it since its inception, before which I was on Steemit. I am very much a part of the Hive community, I have grown as a writer here writing articles not only on crypto, but on cats, dogs, travel, life, books, films etc. It’s my home, but I have a major issue with Hive.
I have written about @Leofinance that it’s a great platform, why people would leave twitter and begin using Leofinance, because their accounts and posts cannot be censured in Leofinance or Hive so there will be freedom of expression.
Reality of not being able to freely tweet on Twitter, so flying away to thread at Leo Finance!! HA!!
However, in reality, due to arbitrary downvotes gifted by certain elements here - I am not sure, people have true freedom of expression and many good quality loyal Hive authors like me would leave the platform.
A good Leofinance post mercilessly downvoted to Zero!! (wonder why not go to -minus)
Consider this -
One of my posts that earned 0.55 cents with 33 votes with support from @indiaunited is down to zero because its been downvoted by 5 accounts.
The hardest vote onslaught being that of - @meritocracy. Then I have @spaminator and @freebornsociety @replicantua @scamforest supporting that powerful downvote with theirs.
Why was this post downvoted ?

- It’s an original well researched article on a DEFI platform Crescent. It was first posted on Hive before anywhere else, and in other places I have mentioned that I post articles in Hive, publish0x and medium. I also post on Steemit but I don’t mention it anywhere, because certain Hive elements will downvote just for that!!
- The article is not offensive - that’s obvious.
- For all images posted there I quoted the source.
So, how can any account arbitrarily for no genuine reason downvote such a post?
Shameful when downvoters downvote valuable articles that educate readers about Blockchain!!
My article that was featured by @leo.voter because of it being a quality article that explained something very valuable - IBC, a decentralised trustless interoperability protocol, that makes it possible for Blockchains to communicate by passing any kind of message without using 3rd party centralised bridges.

Since that post explained IBC which is something very complicated and difficult to understand otherwise, it should be respected. I consider all downvoters who downvoted that article just not respecting quality content, or efforts of writers educating readers on Blockchain!!
Dammit!! Shame on you downvoters who downvote excellent articles like that!! It is a disrespect to crypto and blockchain, when an article that elucidates about a decentralised interoperability protocol, which is very valuable and needed in the blockchain space today gets downvoted!!
Fortunately, since I got support from @leo.voter and @indiaunited, that post did not go to 0!!
Again, it’s @meritocracy’s severe downvote that removed half the rewards from the post,, that account gave a powerful 100% downvote, removing half the voting rewards given by @leo.voter (8.846).
I ignored this because well, that’s life in HIVE!!
Obviously, if the post was plaumarised it would never have been supported by @leo.voter and @indiaunited, so there seems to be no sensible reason for downvoting that post.
Downvoters are harming HIve’s growth downvoting posts that promote platforms like Leofinance
Another post where I excitedly talked about Leofinance being a superior platform to threads and twitter got support from @Leo.voter, @indiaunited earned 11 $ but after downvotes from my usual downvoters
@meritocracy,@spaminator, @freebornsociety along with a new downvoter @
samuraiscam it’s down to 5.
Again it's @meritocracy powerful -100% downvote that removed -5.480 from the rewards of 11.
I ignored it… but if that post was not supported by @leo.voter and @indiauited it would have also been down to 0!!
Leo Finance can be that Social Media star that Threads or Twitter can never be!!
Mind it’s a positive post on Leofiance and how can Hive users downvote it?. Are they anti-Hive?. They don’t approve of posts that talk about the merits of Leofinance or Hive Blockchain?. So, are these accounts not doing harm to Hive and LeoFinance indirectly?
Specific Conditions on which a post can be allowed to be downvoted by accounts
I really think Hive and other Hive based platforms have to find a solution to this arbitrary downvote abuse.
When a downvote is given, it should be responsibility given only -
- If a post is plagiarized. This means that the writer has posted someone else's content as their own. That post should be invalidated, no compromise.
- If copyrighted pictures are put in the post without attributing the source. It's always good to give credit to the person who created the image you put on your post.
- If a post is offensive and indecent.
*This could be - if it has unacceptable content like porn, spreads misinformation, hate, violence, insulting and hurting religious sentiments of people/community etc. Let’s call these posts indecent posts, that need to be taken down. *
Since that’s not possible in Web3 it should be downvoted completely and such posts can be hidden as well!!
- Spam posts that are very bad quality posts that have no substantial content. They are junk posts that should be rejected!!
Irresponsible downvotes should not be validated and tolerated on Hive!! 
A post otherwise cannot be downvoted, that is irresponsible downvoting and @spaminator @freebornsociety and @meritocracy are engaging in irresponsible, arbitrary downvoting continuously in many of my posts.
@spaminator is connected to @hivewatcher, that account downvotes even the comments and replies I make, and my Leofinance threads and thread replies!!
I don’t think downvoters who without valid reason downvote posts should be encouraged any longer. It’s a punishment given to innocent writer and it hits us because its unfair!!
I have no idea if @freebornsociety and @meritocracy and @spaminator are in league together, downvoting posts.
Shame on you guys that you downvote posts that even highlights the benefits of Hive and Leofinance platforms, because you are harming the growth of Hive web3 platforms this way man!!
Let’s keep in mind irresponsible downvotes will hinder growth of Hive Web3 social media platforms
@Hive based web3 platforms whatever features the various teams and witnesses put in and how awesome these Hive web3 platforms become, if these persistent downvotes from accounts continue given for no valid reason, I am sorry when the platform scales as more users onboard and large scale adoption takes place there will be a problem.
Users will fight and the one with more power( whales) will show arrogance and downvote. Or, most likely a group of users will team up to downvote other users, if they fancy for reasons of their own. It’s just a hostile environment for users!!
I urge you guys to find a solution for this before the platform scales. It’s a big issue!!
I am sorry I have to say this, I am a valuable hiver, community member and still look forward to grow on the platform, but if there will be downvote trolls who downvote my good quality posts and no support to prevent this, then maybe I have to leave…
Many users are left absolutely tired and helpless with this #downvote arbitrary abuse problem.
My Downvote trolls have the guts then explain why you downvoted my good posts!!
And all my persistent downvoters now is the chance to explain why you downvoted my two articles here .
@spaminator you seem to be assuming me to be your enemy that you downvote every single thread reply I make. Man, seriously??? … very irresponsible activity that’s actually spoiling the fun in Hive Blockchain platform.
Right guys… For now, I am going to write really good quality posts and garner upvotes from @leo.curator , @leo.voter, @indiaunited, other users in Hive’s community and move on.
I made my point that my posts are being downvoted for no valid reason and one of my posts that earned 0.55$ from 33 votes, has gone to zero. Plus 2 of my high quality posts lost half of the earned rewards.
