Land 1.0 is finally here.
In the words of Gwen Stefani, "It took a while to get me here, so I'm going to take my time."
And it did take a while to get us here with a long way left to go before we can use land as a fully functioning mechanic within the game but it's still great to see the first stages come to light. We might as well take our time to enjoy the first stages as these are the most exciting part. Seeing it build right in front of us, just like the early days of the game.
I'm still annoyed that I didn't buy one of the last tracts when I had the chance as all of the remaining land went of a shot while i was trying to move enough funds around to buy it.
Such is life however and i do have a few plots in my account and will add a few more hopefully.
That's why i got a bit excited today and surveyed my first 10 hoping for something spectacular.
The process itself is easy enough once you know the steps.
- Select "Items" from the options in the top bar of the home screen.
- Click "Land".
- View your Total Deeds on the left hand side of the screen and click "Claim Deeds".
- Select the token you would like to redeem from the drop down menu: Plots, Tracts, or Regions.
- Input the quantity you would like to redeem.
- Click "Redeem". You will be prompted to sign a transaction with Hive Keychain.
- You will receive a pop up confirming that the deeds were claimed.
- You can view your claims on the main land page.
Full detailed instructions can be found here with pictures to make it very easy.
So what did I get?
Think of it as a very expensive pack opening. It has the same feel about it.
For a grand total of,
- 2 Rare
- 8 Common
- 1 Populated.
Nothing too special unfortunately. I do like the populated plot and will fill up the three more valuable ones first when staking goes live.
I should have plenty of cards to work the land that are renting right now and have been picking up some extra reward cards to fill up any extra spaces while they are cheap.
It's going to be interesting to see what effect land will have on the rental market going forward as there are less cards to battle with while there is new demand for workers....
Fun times ahead as they game adds a new dimension to the experience.
Just don't add any new card series for a while, please. Let the FOMO build a little bit.
Try for yourself.
If you haven't played the game before then now is the best time to join. Today is much better than tomorrow and a lot better than later.
