Bitcoin ATMs transfer charges are unfair and honestly broad daylight robbery.
Honestly, I love the fact that there are Bitcoin ATMs around the world or in most countries now in the world but if you have not done any Bitcoin transactions using Bitcoin ATMs you will not understand how unfair Bitcoin ATMs charges are, so before I go on, I'm a crypto vendor in my country, I buy coins from people or sell coins to people. And I also help those who want to receive money sent to them from their family members and friend abroad in crypto for those who are not yet ready to join the crypto space and learn how crypto works so they can be receiving their coins on their own, without any third party.
Yesterday, a friend of mine who knew that I was into crypto trading and exchanging crypto for our fiat currency contacted me and asked me to help his younger brother receive the money their mom wants to send to him for his school fees, and he asked me to recommend a coin that their mom should send the money through, I told him that she should send the school fees through USDT, since USDT is a stablecoin and the charges would be very low, especially using BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) network or Polygon Matic Not Ethereum (ERC20) network that the charges are very high.
After a few hours, he called me to say that his mum said she can not send the money through USDT stablecoin because she doesn't know how to operate a crypto exchange or know any crypto vendor around her, to whom she could pay the person to send the coin to me but she has seen a Bitcoin ATM close to where she leaves, so I sent them my Bitcoin Wallet Barcode and address so can confirm the address is correct before sending the Bitcoin to me, so I can exchange it for our country's fiat currency.
When I received the Bitcoin, I receive $380 worth of Bitcoin and on the Bitcoin ATM slip it printed that $500 was sent to my address, so that simply means that the Bitcoin ATM took $120 as transfer charges out of the $500 worth of Bitcoin sent to for the boy's school fees, and when I did the calculation it showed that the Bitcoin ATM charged 24% of $500 as transfer fee, which is totally unfair. Because of these high and outrageous transfer charges, I would not advise anyone to send Bitcoin to their loved ones using Bitcoin ATMs.
