Well well, didn´t see this one coming!!! Twitter is burning, after the company's former head of security, Peiter "Mudge" Zatko, recognized for being a 'hacker' in the industry, filed a report with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in which ensures that the company does not comply with security standards for users.
And the complaint filed also ensures that the social network company does not have a precise number of bot accounts, and that even the use of the metric is altered, hiding the real number of spam users.
This report could be used by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA), who has been trying to pull out of Twitter's $44 billion takeover deal. A purchase for which he insisted but later regretted, which raised a lawsuit from Twitter, and a subsequent counterclaim by the businessman. The trial will possibly begin in October in Delaware.
Elon Musk's legal team has already contacted the former Twitter employee who filed the report with the allegations for more information, according to CNN.
Zatko, the whistleblower, was hired by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in November 2020 and fired by Parag Agrawal in January this year.
While Twitter claims that bot or spam accounts represent no more than 5% of its users, Musk insists that the number is much higher.
Hivers!!! the plot thickens on twitterland, but we have nothing to worry about we have leofinance threads.
