Porsche made a mistake by going electric, Ferrari profits!

Roaring engines

A few years ago Porsche decided to go all in for the electrification of their brand. The sports car manufacturer made completely electric models of their pure sports cars, like the Taycan. And it gets punished by the market right now. Their target audience, older males, want roaring combustion engines with a lot of colonisers for the money they are paying for it. And not just the zooming of an electric car!

This made Porsche do a profit warning, as already last year’s third quarter showed that sales dropped significantly. And the profit per 1 EUR turnover dropped to 18 cents. Now the projection is it will drop even more…

Ferrari profits

In Maranello, the headquarters of Ferrari they kept making sports vehicles with 8 to twelve cilinders and pro forma made some models hybrid but nothing more.

The profit of Ferrari grew to 1,9 billion Euros last year and per 1 Euro turnover Ferrari makes 28 cents profit. Those are amazing numbers. It shows that especially for the sports car, a petrol engine is what the market wants. And Ferrari read that well.

PORSCHE have always made good cars and engines, I wonder why older males will chose roaring engines over electric cars . Obviously the luxury car manufacturers Porsche did not analyze their choice well based on electric sports car market, and Ferrari is taking the advantage of Porsche poor decision.
