Hivers on this nest, I greet. I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
Basically! From January to maybe the end of October, we Farmers normally sell on scale sometimes and the price we sell is always at all time low. It's a few buyers that buy chicken on weight with their hands just to feel the weight of the chicken. And one thing that normally happens is that, when the festive periods are approaching dressed chicken becomes scarce and guess what, the price goes up. It's a normal routine that happens every year. Before now, a kilo of dressed chicken was sold at N1,600 but currently it's sold at N2,300 at least.
Festive season and the impact it has on the price giving we Farmers edge on price tag.
The festive periods is the period that we Farmers make our ultimate profit. On a normal day, a bird that worths N5,500 on kilo price but when the Festive is around you can sell the same birds for N8,000. So, Festive period gives the Farmers edge on price tag because price during festivities is always ultimately high more than the normal period.
The price of chicken has gone up by almost 45% as we Farmers usually sort for this period we have suffered for because we always long for it. Though the main reason for the hike in price is because of the high cost of production.
