If there is one thing I am grateful for is having a big sister who is willing to push her siblings into great things. If she is doing such a thing and is good for her, she would ensure we benefit from it too even if it has to do with her loaning us the money to start first.
Last year, she pushed me into investing in ARM Mutual Fund and when I was reluctant, she kept reminding me until I gave it a shot in January, this year, and seeing my account growing with me channelling some amount of money every month through debit automation, I am so excited taking the step to invest in my future self. She told me I could withdraw anytime I want but this is for the long-term as I said in one of my posts where I talked about this investment, my plan is to continue investing for a few years while it continues to yield larger interest for me.
...as if that wasn't enough, she came knocking with another opportunity. Although this was something I wanted to try out a long time ago, but due to a lack of information on it, I didn't bother to take a step. But what I was looking for a long time ago came swiftly to me through my sister. Two months ago, she talked to my immediate younger sister and me about the shares she has bought and is investing in. This got me interested and went to her for more details on how to go about it.
When she first told me the amount she started with, I screamed and felt hesitant because I was like, "It's a whole lot there!" but she calmed me down, saying I could start with the little I had. My sister invested with over a million naira which was a lot on my side. But you know, it's a self-investment which you'd reap the reward in years to come.
She explained the process to me and linked me up with her account officer. I chatted with the officer who happened to be a female who has been in the business and working with the organisation for more than 20 years. At first, my sister paid one hundred thousand naira for the commission fee so she wouldn't have to go through the stress of checking the market when the price of her shares rise or drop. The officer who has collected her service charges would be doing the work for her while she rest from the troubles.
She talked to the officer on our behalf perhaps the commission fee she paid could be graced on us since we are siblings, aside from that, both my sister and the account officer have known each other for some years which made it easier for her to agree and so, we wouldn't have to worry about the commission fee even though I know it would be another load of work on her when we finally decide to be added to her list.
Last week, my sister sent me some files to print out which were the forms I would be filling and registering an account with the shares organisation. During the weekend, I went to print them out. My sister explained more about the filling process and what to do and not to do last night.
She told me to make sure I try to compensate the account officer so she won't have to keep grumbling when I am always at her DM asking for suggestions on which shares to buy or not, when to sell when the price goes up for some profits and when to buy back, etc. You know, human beings would be human beings. When we do our part, they're ready to go the extra mile for us.
Since I have gotten the shares I would be buying, I would go ahead to fill out the forms, open an account by paying ten thousand naira into the company's account and start my journey into buying shares this week. I would be spending over two hundred thousand naira, both for shares and the commission fee so I wouldn't have to monitor the market myself.
I am so happy for this step I am taking through my sister and believe that this investment will pave more ways for me in the future.
Also, I wouldn't forget to thank the Hive platform for making it possible because the money I would be using for the investment was gotten from here. I feel so lucky to be here and the benefits I have enjoyed are numerous since I came on board over three years ago.
Thanks for your time reading. Looking forward to your interaction.
