The Crypto Industry Has No Experts Yet

The crypto industry has no experts yet is what I was told by a crypto enthusiast. Before he made that statement he asked if I knew any blockchain experts, I asked him in what terms does he mean by a blockchain expert. I wouldn’t fully consider myself a blockchain expert generally but it depends on the context you are putting it. He then proceeded to ask me if I knew Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, and asked if I would consider him an expert. Well without hesitation I said yeah, I will consider him an expert, and he said he wouldn’t consider him an expert because the crypto space is still developing and no one knows the limit of the crypto space, hence the reason no one is an expert in the crypto space yet.

He used a very beautiful example which is the Luna/UST situation. UST is the StableCoin version of LUNA that we expected to be stable and pegged to $1 but unfortunately it got depegged and went downhill. This created a huge awareness in the crypto space that a StableCoin can be really unsafe, the StableCoin experts who created UST and boasted of its stability all of a sudden can not be considered an expert anymore because they failed with UST. It takes a matter of one mistake to disregard an experts knowledge and ideas, but I disagreed with this.

Experts by my knowledge, is someone who is very skilful and knows a lot about a particular field. The world is very big and no matter what field or expertise you are in, it’s sustainable to change and new ideas. So for the fact that mistakes are being found and made in a particular field shouldn’t make him conclude there are no experts in crypto. Crypto a limitless technology that will keep improving over time, it’s inevitable, so every great stage achievement in crypto there is an expert for that at that time. When new ideas and changes have been implemented, there will have to be new experts for that. In my opinion I believe there are experts in the crypto industry. As long as they keep improving, their level of expertise will improve as well.

Without getting in between or being judgemental to an extent of an objection. Here I would that , crypto is kind of limitless project still on a growing and improving pace within it widening space.

Of which each and everyone knows that there are sets of people who know more about blockchain technology and crypto currency.

Of which such sets of an individual could get account as an expert depending on the area , they partly specialize.

So whatever betwixt should be strictly an opinion and personal perspective , of which you shouldn't get over bothered.

Very interesting, and a fun read. The first two sentences (or whatever it is that shows up when I’m scrolling) caught my interest. I thought…do i read this? …and then I looked at your username and thought, yeah, I guess I do! - and I’m glad I did. Fun perspective to take on the subject, and accurate too. Like, was Marie Curie an expert on radioactive substances? I mean, at the time maybe she was the leading researcher, but no, technically they’re could have been no expert had there not first been leading researchers. So maybe the creators of such staples as ethereum and bitcoin…and even Hive could be known as leading researchers, but I agree, until we the capabilities of blockchain and crypto have seen their full potential realized, there almost can’t be an expert - but there is still remaining a a critical and pivotal role, without whom the experts of the future would have no grounds on which to stand…and that is the leading researchers; those who are exploring the space and daring to push for new use cases. Personally, I still want to see the DTCC replaced by a blockchain…that would be a huge step in the right direction, not just for crypto and blockchain tech, but also for a stock market whose known corruption has been eroding faith in itself on a global scale for at least several years. Anyway, thanks for having an awesome name, and for sharing this equally awesome post. Your insight has spurred in me a chain of thoughts that may otherwise not have taken place!
