CBS Sports and Yahoo Finance is reporting that 150 Million Netflix subscribers tuned in to watch the Tyson vs Jake Paul event. To put that in perspective the Apollo 11 moon landing was said to boast between 120-150 million viewers, depending on source. The Super bowl somewhere south of 125 million. The events gate ($17.8M) set a new combat sports record, the biggest boxing gate outside of Las Vegas in U.S. history.
Yahoo Finance:

Assuming 2.5 viewers per household, Helfstein estimated about 150 million global viewers tuned in to watch the Tyson-Paul event. That's greater than the 124 million US viewers who watched the 2024 Super Bowl, the highest viewership for any US broadcast.
The analyst, who has an Outperform rating on shares, called out Netflix's ability to generate massive viewership, "suggesting the company will be successful with advertising around live events."
RentMoney's Thoughts [Spoilers Ahead]
As many know Jake Paul bested Mike Tyson in their boxing bout. Rumors are circling of a fix but I see no evidence of that. What I seen was an almost 60 year old warrior showing his age inside of the boxing ring verses a man half his age. I for one am grateful for the opportunity to see a great like Mike Tyson enter the ring one last time and even more grateful that no one was seriously hurt. Reports are saying that Mike Tyson earned 20 Million for the bout. Jake Paul managed to pocket double that and take home 40 Million. Those numbers might be shocking to some because one would think Mike Tyson would be the boxer getting the bigger purse. However if we take into account that Jake Paul's company MVP helped produce the event; that could be the reason for the purse differences. The co-main event was something else. Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor 2 was the co-main event and I believe it to be an instant classic. A massive cut opened up just above the eye of Amanda Serrano in the fourth round. Personally I thought the bout was going to end there but the doctor and ref let it go on. Even more surprising is Amanda Serrano somehow managed to get to the final bell regardless of the accidental headhunt that caused the cut. Lots of controversy has surrounded this co-main event including many saying that the judges got it wrong when they announced Katie Taylor as the winner. Personally I thought the right fighter won, power-shots + damage over volume this time around. I don't want to give out too many details just in case readers haven't seen the event yet. The replay can be seen on Netflix which has monthly subscriptions offers for as low as $6.99.
