Hey Guys,
yesterday I clicked a bit through the latest version of OKX Wallet and registered for the first time as a new user in the app.
This is where you differ from Exchange as OKX itself is one and the new Wallet which automatically registers an account to almost all blockchains when you create a wallet and thus provides a wallet, seedphrase and private keys.
Web3 Wallet Creation with the OKX App
Creating a web3 wallet is quite simple. With the latest version of the OKX app (v. 6.18.0) you can easily switch between your OKX account and a new web3 wallet.
The wallet creation
To do this, go to "Wallet" in the app and click on "Create Wallet" - within seconds you will have the seed phrase and recovery keys for your account and thus have your wallet on various blockchains and can transfer between them in the app.
Swap/trade interactively integrated
What surprised me a bit was how easy it was to swap e.g. SUI tokens into USDC. With an integrated function of e.g. in this case Suiswap.app, the swap process was integrated directly into the app and at the same time written to the SUI blockchain when executing a swap. This can be displayed in the Explorer.
EOS leads the way - Hive follows suit!
(So far HIVE is not listed on OKX and therefore "currently" no account can be created via the web3 wallet.
Which does not mean that it can be implemented in the future!
So while scrolling through all my freshly created accounts on various blockchains, I was able to find an old friend again, EOS!
Since I believe the initial registration process is similar or even the same as EOS for Hive, integrating the registration process into the web3 OKX wallet might be easier than I thought?
web3 Wallet as an onboard tool?
That would be wonderful, of course, if it were that easy. So far, we don't see our beloved Hive token ready for trading in the OKX world.
So if Hive is listed as a token/coin on OKX, another important step could be the registration process of a new account on the Hive Blockchain.
Summary
The web3 wallet is relatively simple and easy to navigate - with some steps you have to push some "fees" in advance every now and then. The process of creating the wallet was incredibly easy, the interaction between accounts was wonderful and you can switch between your OKX account and your created web3 wallet in the app.
Unfortunately, Hive is not currently listed on OKX, which means that the Hive blockchain is not yet represented as an account. Here one could become active.
I hope this little introduction to the web3 world of OKX Wallet helped you. As always, you can post questions in the comments.
