We are getting a brand new Leofinance User Interface on May 1, 2023. The new interface will have many new features and applicability. Go to @leofinance account to browse through their posts if you want to know more on what's happening with the UI development.
1000 Threads Commitment
I have been actively threading since threads was introduced in 2022. I remember Task and I hit 1000 threads in a week when the UI was launched earlier this year. Last Monday, @taskmaster4450le and I committed to take a challenge to achieve that feat again.
We challenged ourselves to create 1000 threads in a week to showcase that we can achieve this target if we manage to engage in conversation with fellow threaders.
The @leo.stats account came up with the weekly thread counts for last week yesterday. It turns out we did not made 1000 threads last week. Between us, Task and I created around 1500 threads last week. I know we did not reach the 2000 threads as committed but I am happy that we managed to contribute.
Three reflections that I want to highlight here to explain what I observed while interacting with fellow threaders. These are random reflections but may help the creators and fellow users to build up the momentum and identify issues that are preventing the uptick in activity on the platform.
Small accounts pack a big punch
I believe that small and new accounts on Hive have much more to contribute to leo threads. More than 60% of the accounts I actively interacted with are hive accounts with less than 1K Hive Power. They are recently created account but they find it easy to engage on threads. Take a look at the the top threaders and you will figure out how this new platform is occupied by new users.
There are few reasons behind new accounts being active on threads compared to the old and big accounts.
Easy Networking
- Threads is an easy networking opportunity without any big network on Hive. Everyone is equal in terms of networking as anyone is allowed to comment and reply and the interaction is almost instant unlike the blogging platform.
Easy Interface
- The interface is intuitive. Users do not need to learn complex skills to read, reply and comment.
Easy Engagement
- Unlike blogging platform, the engagement is easy with threads. You can like or dislike or laugh about anything. You can check crypto prices and create polls. No judgement. You can post your photos and have fun with fellow threaders.
It looks like this new platform is accepted easily by new and small accounts compared to the old accounts. Not saying that there are no established accounts but I have not seen that many established hive accounts threading regularly except a very few.
Focus on #Conversations
Not sure what is the reason behind existing Hive users who know how important the engagement is not coming on threads. It may be lack of time and the notion of not having enough ideas to share.
Threads is different from traditional blogging. Blogging is easy as threads require more time to create shareable bullets. That is true if we consider threading as blogging. Change the perspective and consider threads as conversations. That way it is super easy to share content as users find it easy to reply and comment to others and provide honest opinions.
When I make more than 100 threads a day I try to build relationships. I focus on genuine conversations and open up for humour or honest appreciation. We are all humans on the platform and focusing on conversations help our case while threading.
We need the OGs but that will not always be the case going forward if/when hundreds of new users are in dapps.
What do fellow threaders/lions/hivers think?
